Pretty cool, 'cept for that hideous chunk of metal where the Floyd should be... :icon_biggrin:Death by Uberschall said:Ty said:Death by Uberschall said:

Updown said:These sort of painted finishes would need to be done buy, air brush pro's.
(don't know if your going down that path. Ty)
Gotta love the King Crimson one :blob7:
Nightclub Dwight said:I love this discussion about future colors and paints.
My only suggestion might be an impossible request. I'd love to see real nitro lacquer for body colors. I don't want to start any debate about the tonal properties, as I don't think there really are any. But for purposes of how the guitar wears, I prefer the old school lacquer finishes instead of the modern poly finishes. The poly looks great, but I like the old style finishes that would age with time more than the poly finishes do.
I realize this would probably require two paint assembly lines, which is probably too much to ask.

I'm newish to warmoth this year so :icon_scratch: Ever done this .....

OR
This is one very cool colour ... 'Stealth Blue' ... The paint changes from blue to purple in different light. :icon_thumright:
Or could be known as 'Plum Crazy Pearl'
Seen this on cars ....
Do this one and count me in :toothy10:
Yes Swirls are surely one of the finishes we are experimenting with, color changing paints such as PPG Harlequin have also been given much thought! However those Harlequin colors are super expensive but in my opinion the best color changing effect.
What colors of the Harlequin would you guys like to see? Blue to Green, Green to Gold?.....
Swirls :icon_thumright:
Harlequin .... Seen a ... Cyan to Purple (I think thats what it is) ... My fav

And matching headstock option (maybe that is already possible?).

Swirls are great, they have fans outside of Ibanez.
I don't know if Paisley is a finish but I like it a lot.
Paisley is usually a wallpaper applied over the body and routes cut out. We have discussed this but have yet to determine if the time and labor would pay off.
Yes i have done Paisley when i briefly left Warmoth to pursue my own finishing shop Roxy Guitar Finish 11yrs ago. Around the same time i partnered with Mercurio guitars in Chanhassen MN. There i had a chance to do some pretty wild paint jobs including Lenny Kravitz Blue Star body.
having done a paisley body with Tonar, I will say that it was a lot of work. BUT - the results are worth it, and it's a fairly popular finish. Please keep talking about this - I would like to have one!

Seriously, I really like this idea of white-gold ZW...
And the gold and silver flake be like these:
We had started the Bullseye pattern finish and even made the vinyl templates, but we couldnt find out for sure if the finish was/is Trademarked. If anyone has info about this please let me know.
I was more serious about the gold and silver flake look more like that ones I posted. That would be awesome
anorakDan said:It's kinda weird to me that the more "flamboyant" finish requests offered here are pretty easily done by the builder. Those swirl ones especially. What's easier than pouring enamel paint onto water in a trash can, poking it with a stick and dipping in the body? There are several how-to videos on YouTube.
The target finishes take a little thought, masking tape and spray paint.
It just seems a little silly to me to request do-it-yourself finishes from the factory. They have more difficult or more beautiful finishes to do.
In addition to the blue to purple to black burst, I would like to see a black burst edge on transparent red as an option. That looks great on an SG body.

I don't know why that is not in our paint choices? Actually just finished an LP that way.

Thanks.
Two added questions:
Is it possible to make the fading of the burst more gradual? (Hope this is the correct term - English is not my first language)
Would a option of black burst over [insert any optional solid color] be doable?
Big thumps up for taking your time to answer all of questions! :icon_thumright:
Damon said:Not sure if anyone already said this since I only really skimmed pages 3-6, but I'd love to see something like Gibson's wine red.
Needs a Turbo Deluxe Floyd said:If one orders a dye or transparent top with black back, I was under the impression the black burstover was automatic. One has to pay more not to get it.
Bagman67 said:Trevor, how did you get the paper to adhere cleanly to the surface of the guitar when you did that? I really dig the look but my brief flirtation with that idea was thwarted when the contact adhesive failed after a week.
:headbang1:swarfrat said:If I ever own enough guitars to get down to this one, someday I'd love to have a crackle painted shredder. Soloist, jackson neck, floyd, one vol, one humbucker, one angled neck single.
either a seafom over black crackle or a black over fire red-orange crackle.
