Damn, you bought 2? My wife was extremely cool when I told her about the sale. She sat there with me and helped me pick things out. She even went downstairs, grabbed her credit card, brought it back upstairs with her, handed it to me and said "You better order now before they disappear". I think if I suggested that I want that Spalted Maple Strat too she'd probably have a stroke and cut my danglers off.

No. 1 - I have bought nothing else and probably won't until after the first of the year - so just the bodies. No. 2 My wife knows I work my ass off for my paycheck and I rarely treat myself to anything - so when I do she doesn't really say much. No. 3 I'm sure diamonds will be involved at Christmas to really keep her from saying anything.  :laughing3:

I fell in love with the Carribean burst when the guy on here built that strat for his dad - so the fact that it was a tele was a no brainer.

The 2nd one was actually going to be that double cream bound black swamp ash body - and someone beat me to it.

Then I was eyeing the Koa Mahogany bound top route - someone beat to that.

Didn't realize what the thinline was thought it was just a black/black - then I noticed the quilted top FTW.

I will be sure to post as they progress.

Anyone want to hazard a guess about the line on the black thinline from the bridge pick-up route to the tail? Maybe a light reflection? I've sent an e-mail asking the guys to take a closer look - didn't notice until I got on my home computer tonight? Hope it's not some sort of an imperfection - hard to believe it is?

It's probably a reflection.  Imperfections aren't all bad though.  Technically flame and quilting are imperfections.

I didn't notice that line until you said that. Hmmmm, I hope it's a reflection. One thing though, if it is an imperfection, like if something was sitting on it and made a mark, I'm sure they'll refund you since it wasn't in the description. Hopefully it's just a reflection though.

Well, mine isn't nearly as fancy as everyone else's, but an ordered guitar is an ordered guitar, right?

Swamp ash finished in white pearl.

The pickguard is a green pearl hybrid. Hardware is chrome. Tele PU in the bridge, and a Firebird mini humbucker in the neck.

I have a rosewood strat neck I never used that I'm putting on it - I'll just have to live with the gap until I can afford a '59 roundback tele neck.

I think I'm going to try out GFS or something sub-$150 for the set...Lollars are just a little too pricey to justify to myself right now. My wife had to talk me into buying this as it is.

I was wondering when someone was gonna snag that Caribbean Tele.

So I called Warmoth and it was a no-go on the Canary.  It should be interesting to find out what exactly is going on here.  Interesting factoid though: Spike told me that the price for an all Canary neck is the same as a Bubinga neck w/Rosewood fretboard.  It's a rule of thumb to price things when you're planning and they don't have the Canary in stock. 

So how can mayfly order a custom canary neck and not you :icon_scratch:

Well frankly I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a call later that they made a mistake and they don't actually have the Canary right now.  But if he does get his neck, I will be very confused.

Yea that's pretty strange.  The person I talked to (not spike) said no problem.  Have not gotten the "uhhh - we don't have any Canary" call or email yet.

I'm not too worried about it because I'm not quite ready to fork over $400 for a neck yet.  Maybe by the time I'm ready they'll have some more canary.  Or I could just go with maple, it's not that big of a deal.
