Big news regarding Warmoth Soloist bodies...

I know you don’t like being told by forumites what to do, and how often feedback doesn’t translate to sales.

But.

If Jackson, Charvel, Ibanez, et al are the axes you’re looking at, the lack of a 24 fret repo pickguard is even more mystifying. Aside from the pre-Jackson era Charvel San Dimas, almost all of these guitars have 24 frets - including the original Soloist, Dinky, RG/JEM, etc. If you Google image search “Superstrat”, 90% of the results are guitars with 24 frets. The Wikipedia article for “Superstrat” even mentions extended fret ranges.

Again, I’m not trying to egg you on. I really think yall are SO close to having something really great with the new top rout Soloist that is unfortunately going to fall short of some buyers expectations.
The HSH rout was opened up at the humbuckers to accommodate for angle hums at the bridge

No apology required.

That is a beautiful quote.

All this clamour for 24 frets... my answer is the 7/8th neck! I don't miss the 25.5 scale length (even though I've been playing it since the mid-70s)
And there it is: 24 frets BY DESIGN. Looking forward to the day when it takes over the world and I can choose other headstocks too. I like the Warhead just fine, but I also have a fetish for the pointier things in life... "What about pointed sticks!!??" ;)

But that don’t intonate on 25.5” scale bodies.

Warmoth drops a 7/8 Soloist with a top rout… well that would do things to my critical decision making capabilities

+1 for a 7/8 Soloist either way. Browsing pics of the Strat 7/8, upper fret access isn't quite what it could be.

Funny they do something new and we're immediately on their asses for the next new thing. 😁

Warmoth: We just cured breast cancer and childhood leukemia.
The internet: Ya, but when are we getting a proper sculpted heel?
While I would prefer a more rounded off heel (like maybe the Ibanez or Fender style), the one that Warmoth offers is "good enough" for 21 & 22 fret guitars.
