BTW, I'm liking raw necks these days because when you're on stage the sweat has somewhere to go rather than gumming the back of the neck.

They have some Canary fretboards left in the choose your own fretboard section, but for some reason Canary doesn't even come up as an option in the neck builder for the back or fretboard.  I was like "Sweet, I can get a different exotic and put the canary on the front so I get the look that I want!" but then it didn't work.  That makes me a saaad panda.

I'm kinda surprised that this WGD is still hanging around. It's been discounted for a while, and now with the special is under $300 for what I thought was a nice looking clear finished guitar. I'm guessing this style isn't too popular?

For me that's the biggest selling point.  For long practice sessions or just playing in the summer time without having a sticky neck.

Damn, you bought 2? My wife was extremely cool when I told her about the sale. She sat there with me and helped me pick things out. She even went downstairs, grabbed her credit card, brought it back upstairs with her, handed it to me and said "You better order now before they disappear". I think if I suggested that I want that Spalted Maple Strat too she'd probably have a stroke and cut my danglers off.

So I called Warmoth and it was a no-go on the Canary.  It should be interesting to find out what exactly is going on here.  Interesting factoid though: Spike told me that the price for an all Canary neck is the same as a Bubinga neck w/Rosewood fretboard.  It's a rule of thumb to price things when you're planning and they don't have the Canary in stock.

Well frankly I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a call later that they made a mistake and they don't actually have the Canary right now.  But if he does get his neck, I will be very confused.
