This is a 32 bar backing track that changes keys every 8 bars.

Every 8 bars it moves up a minor 3rd or 3 frets.

It's A LOT easier than it sounds. Basically you start off in Em & move up 3 frets every 8 bars to the new key.

The minor scale or the pentatonic minor works well over the changes.

I did 64 bars on the backing track so everyone could play over it for a while without having to restart it often.

This ends 2 weeks from now on August 30th

Key of Em:        Em7  /  Am7  /  D7  /  Em7
                       Em7  /  Am7  /  D7  /  Em7

Key of Gm:        Gm7  /  Cm7  /  F7  /  Gm7
                       Gm7  /  Cm7  /  F7  /  Gm7

Key of Bbm:      Bbm7  /  Ebm7  /  Ab7  /  Bbm7
                       Bbm7  /  Ebm7  /  Ab7  /  Bbm7

Key of Dbm:      Dbm7  /  F#m7  /  B7  /  C#m7
                       Dbm7  /  F#m7  /  B7  /  C#m7

a minute 25 in 4 different keys... that's going to be a tough one. Fun but hard to pull off (for me anyway) in a continuous solo. Better make it 3 weeks :laughing7:

I'll definitely work on it - - thanks for making it. :icon_thumright:

edit - having fn with it already. Sounds good with an acoustic guitar doing the solo -- though I'll use my warmoth

It's actually waaaaaaaaaaaaay easier than it sounds. Every 8 bars, you just move the same licks up 3 frets.

We had a cool 3 chord rocker last time, so I thought it would be fun to try something different.

WHAT IS THIS??? JAZZ!??!!? hehe, sounds fun. I'll figure out something and get it uploaded probably later today or the next few days.

Take you time on it, we have 2 weeks.

I usually just loop the track endlessly & play over it for a loooong time to get a feel & develop ideas for it.

That was fast...& I don't just mean the bass playing.  :headbang:

I'm going to need to spend some time on this one before attempting to record something. I'll have mine by this week hopefully.

hachikid  - - it sounds like you were doing alright for the first two sections and then you went out of key for the last two.

Also the bass is drowning out the backing so much that I'm having a hard time synching it up because I can't hear the snare hits well enough. I'll do the best I can with it, but I can't say for sure that it's going to be in time right.

here's my solo - again not crazy about it, but it's alright....

Cool solos, guys!!!  :party07:

I'm going to get off my butt & cut mine in the next couple of days.

Still about a week to go on this. Anyone else going to get in on it?

I've got a mix going that I think sounds pretty sweet so far.

nah, I went free jazz after that. hah. if you'd like, I'll redo it. try something else and dial the "low" amp down a little bit.

I think I figured out a way to synch it up. You don't have to redo if you don't want. If you're happy with it then I'll keep it.

I've got all 5 in the mix and I think sounding pretty good. Always room for more.... :icon_thumright:

Hello boys/girls.

Mixdown: http://www.mediafire.com/?wy938uyrk1a381h

Solo: http://www.mediafire.com/?68z2xhs82j25o3d (which for some reason refused to be converted to mp3, go figure. pm me if I need to change the format)

Very hard to be interested/interesting for such a long period, this is probably the best I can do this time around :p

Alright, back to vacation for me. See you in a couple of months :redflag:

(really enjoyed djf67's solo for the last jam btw)
