I'm trying to buy some Hipshot "grip-lock" open staggered tuners like I normally use, but they seem to be out of stock most places or overpriced where in-stock.... hmmm.

Thanks Spud! Unfortunately those are for 8.5mm vintage style holes, I ordered my neck with modern holes
Wait a second, those components are so small you can't even see them properly. Thy are surface mounts and you are trying to trick us by waving the soldering iron over them.Soldered up the fuzz circuit today. Would have been really easy if I hadn't accidentally swapped two of the capacitors, which I then had to desolder and it got a little messy. I don't think I damaged anything though. Now I just have to work on getting it in the guitar.

the 3 way only has two wires connected to the center lug. what gives?Got it all wired in! This wiring scheme is definitely over the top, maybe I should have simplified it by leaving out the bass cut... Anyways, hope it works!!
Also the neck has shipped! Woot!

Wibbly wobbly timey wimey things! It goes beyond the scale of our minuscule human intellects!!the 3 way only has two wires connected to the center lug. what gives?
ah, I am just a simple spud and spaced that detail! Failed to notice the "air"pickups.Wibbly wobbly timey wimey things! It goes beyond the scale of our minuscule human intellects!!
But really it looks like that but the black is actually hooked to the ground lug and yellow to the output lug ,which is below the ground lug on this switch (closer to the pickguard) and I haven't wired the pickups yet
I have had good luck easing the edges of aluminum guards with emery boards. Just FYIThe pickup covers that I ordered from Guitar Madness on Ebay don't fit in my pickguard, AND don't fit one of my pickups (the Woody++ has slightly wider pole pieces than normal). I just ordered a new set from Sunday Handwound; they'll fit their pickups and hopefully they'll fit in my guard!
I never quite understood the difference between a strat neck and a Jazzmaster one? Is the headstock slightly different? The neck has landed! It's a little light on the birdseye on the front of the headstock, but the back of the shaft is very lovely and I'm very happy with it. Now comes a labor intensive but very important section of the build: the fret dressing and polishing, and then burnishing/polishing the shaft.
I'm still waiting on the tuners to arrive, as well as the new pickup covers

Another instant Raga classic! Beautiful sir!Pickup covers?? We don't need no stinkin' pickup covers!!!
I got everything full put together using tape to hold the pickups in place. The neck pickup sounds excellent! The bridge pickup isn't close enough to the strings. I think I'm going to be very happy with the tone of this guitar once I get pickup covers and can adjust the pickup height lol.
The fuzz circuit is not working correctly; makes a loud squeal. My guess is that its making contact with the shielding paint or another wire, as it seemed to work earlier.
Anyway, here she is! I'll take some glamour shots once I get those stinkin' pickup covers!
