I've had this lovely thing around for a while, so while I'm letting the finish on the woodburned Strat ripen, I figured it was the right time to get this built.
                                          Quilt maple on chambered mahogany
Creme binding, jungleburst top, gloss black back
Mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, 6150 frets, '59 roundback
                                          Gloss black finish
Duncan Vintage P-90 neck; Duncan Custom P-90 bridge
                                          Fender flat-mount bridge

(if you ever decide to let it go, i would give it a very good home) :toothy11:

:icon_thumright:  That's another bloody beauty Great Ape.

I've lost count on your Tele builds, must be up to 5 or 6 or 11  :dontknow:

Really like the look of P90's on a Tele  :toothy10:  .... makes it look clean and mean  :guitarplayer2:

Yes, sir; chunky but smooth, like the finest gourmet peanut butter.... :laughing8:

I've really got to do something with P90s. I understand Kent Armstrong makes some believable noiseless parts, as does Mr. Kinman. What would be wrong with an old LP jr with those things installed?

If you can bear to go with a real single coil, Cagey, instead of one of the noiseless variants, I must sing the praises of TroubledTreble's Roadhouse True Blue P90's - the most responsive and well-defined pups I have ever played.

I believe that, as the one pickup I have from him is a magical part I'll never let go of. But, I truly/madly/deeply hate 60hz hum. I don't care if there are porn stars singing siren songs over it promising me the Earth/moon/stars, I'm not going to tolerate it.

On the other hand, I have one of the best noise gates extant in my Axe FX II, so it may not be as big a problem as I fear. Even years back when I had a Rocktron Hush unit I was able to live with it, so I know it's possible. I was playing a Levinson Blade back then that had single coils. Pretty much a high-end Strat Clone, if you're unfamiliar. But, I'd just rather not deal with it.

I do recall the Blade guitars.  I remember when they were going out of business I had a shot at one for a really decent price, and passed it up because at that time I didn't figure I could justify any more guitars.  How I have learned since then...

And I'll tell you what - if you buy a set of P90's from Ken and can't hang with the hum, I'll buy them from you at the price you paid.

I really miss mine. It was a transparent midnight blue burst to an almost black blue over Swamp Ash body with an Ebony over Maple neck with monster frets that played like a dream. Sounded perfect. Learned a lot of Satriani's tunes on that thing. Loved it like a rock. Lost it through misadventure. Hate myself.

Regardless, I'll take you up on your offer, but I don't know when. What's in the pipe already won't take P90s, so it'll have to be a new build and Lord knows I hardly ever start new projects for no reason whatsoever...

How is "I need a P90 guitar" equivalent to "no reason whatsoever"? Pretty much all my builds start with a set of pickups I need a way to carry.
