Plus 1 on the EHx "Hum Debugger". Does what it advertises, without destroying your tone. No clamping, so sustain remains. Just remember that it's not designed to attenuate noise generated by other pedals, so it will not replace a gate. It's strictly to kill EMI induced hum. It's the first pedal on my board, with a Boss NS-2 at the other end, for those times when only a gate will do.

I keep an NS-2 around for those times as well, it is the only noise gate I ever didn’t hate. The ability to put noisy pedals in the loop and have the gate trigger off of the guitar output rather than the pedal output is huge!
Indeed. The ability to send your signal through the gate, then attach a distortion/noisy whatever in a loop and send the output back through the gate isn't unique to Boss, but they do it quite well.

Guess what just finally showed back up in stock? And guess what I just ordered for this build? I’ll give you a hint, they are both this:

Mmmmmmm, black Mastery bridge and vibrato......

A few swings, a few misses, but I believe I have found The Knob in the form of Fender American Vintage '58 Tele Knobs, p/n 0094057049.

In other news, I've learned that the Black Mastery Kit ships with black packing confetti, which is a nice touch.

I can't wait to get it all mounted on a body! T-minus.... ah geez like 4-6 more weeks...

There are few days that can compare with the day one of these shows up:

I want to start by saying that Candy Turquoise is criminally under-rated. It is a truly stunning finish. I tried pictures in different light but none of them really capture it. The blue is hyped a bit in these pictures and what is missing is a green/aqua-marine hue that really pops. I wish I could capture it better.

Thanks! I'm excited to see it come together too! I haven't received word on the neck shipping yet, and when it does it will be going to Cagey for his wizardry, so the finished product is still out a ways. Still, there is plenty to do. And I do happen to have a "spare" Strat neck floating around for times like this.....

The neck pocket is surprisingly clean, shouldn't take too much work to get it cleaned up spic-and-span.

For now, this will be me for the forseeable future, slowly working the bridge post holes until they will snugly accept the Mastery Bridge thimbles.....

that Black Mastery Kit look great with tasteful  Candy Turquoise  :headbanging:

Colour me very jealous - turquoise was next (and probably last) on my list of Warmoth candies. Looking amazing so far.

It is spectacular! I was going out on a limb to some extent as I'd never seen the finish in person, but I couldn't be happier with it. I look forward to seeing what you concoct if/when you do a Candy Turquoise build!

I'm inclined to agree! To that end, I did some test fitting of the pick guard today and got some pretty tantalizing preview pics... When I was mocking things up with just the pick guard, I thought that black pickup covers were a bit much...

...but in context with the body and bridge / vibrato I suddenly think that black is the way to go. I like it a LOT...

For comparison, here it is with the white:

And, just because I had them, "Antique White":

I think I sanded away more of my fingertips than I did of the bridge post hole, but I finally got it where it needed to be.

I was able to press the thimble in by hand using a dowel, but it was tight enough that 4 hours later I can still see the imprint on the heel of my palm. "Just right" I think. One down, one to go.

In other news, the pickguard dropped right in, no issues at all with all the guts fitting the route. Which is kind of thrilling. Concerns about that have been nagging me. The profiles for the pickup covers need to be massaged, but I can put the Dremel on those.
