The GAS Thread is a FAIL Thread, because you've GAS and you ain't got the condition in the moment to buy what you want, so you share if the forum mates the sorrow of it... It's like an AA... :laughing7:

It is like an AA meeting discussing the perils of fine 21 year old malt whiskey...(drool)......  :evil4:

the only peril of a 21 year old whiskey is the bottom of the bottle and trying to convince the wife to go get you more

LOL.... :laughing7:

(What if you have no wife, btw? Does the local liquor shop do home deliveries?)

QUESTION: What is the ballpark average wait time for a showcase item to ship?  I know it probably depends, so let's say i'm about to order a showcase neck, and i'll have it fretted and reamed for a different size tuner hole.  How long does that usually take?

When I got this done, it took like 2 weeks (For some reason I want to say 12 days). This was also right in the middle of the sale last year, so I bet they were swamped, but that was exactly what I done to the neck I got.

Cool thanks man.  Do you mean 2 weeks before it shipped or 2 weeks before you received it?

The last neck I ordered came out of the showcase and all it required was frets and tuner reaming. Oh, and a nut. Anyway, they had it out within about 4 days. But, then it took 10 (business) days to get here. I know you're in roughly the same neighborhood I am, so I'd expect about the same kind of timing. Today's Monday, if you order it right this minute they'll probably start on it until tomorrow, so they'll be done with it by Friday (maybe), ship it the following Monday (11/29), so I wouldn't expect to see it much before December 10th or 13th.

Yeah, that is about what i was thinking.  Really, i'm in no hurry.  I was just wondering what the wait would look like.

I've been promising my Daphne Blue Strat for quite awhile now that if she behaved, i would eventually treat her to a maple/maple warmoth.  Well, i think the time has come to reward her.  :)

Thanks Bagman, that one is really nice, but i already have one picked out......
I'm going to keep it a secret because i want it to still be there when i am ready to pull the trigger in a couple days.  :)

Yeah, you gotta treat your children well <grin>

I just won a Rosewood over Mahogany Warmoth neck with Sperzels and threaded inserts off eBay that I promised to my Mahogany Strat body, but between when I bid on it and when I won, I found out somebody had hacked my MasterCard and emptied it out plus. Bank says "no problem, you're not liable" but the card is useless for the next ten days or so while they straighten it out. Meantime, I gotta figure out how to save my good standing on eBay while not paying up RFN. That's gonna be fun.

It's funny - this is the second time in a year that I bid on something I really didn't expect to win because I bid low, and it came through. It's like the gods are toying with me.

And as if that wasn't enough, my roommate told me last weekend that he'd like to have the house back to himself, so I gotta find another place to live. Oh, and did I mention that one of my younger brothers died this weekend? I really need to find some Xanax or Valium or something, before I start mixing rat poison into my lasagne.

Cagey, I am truly sorry to hear this.  I am sure that I speak for many on the Warmoth forum that our sincerest condolences go out to you and your family and your loss will be in our prayers.

Cagey, that's terrible.  I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, and i'm sure that the added Credit Card/Roommate B.S. on top of it doesn't help at all.  You're in my prayers friend.

Thank you all for your condolences. It was quite a surprise, as he's only 44 years old. The thinking is he had a stroke, but we haven't heard the results of the autopsy yet. It's breaking everybody's heart, because he was always "the sweet kid" (as opposed to ass holes like me, I guess <grin>). Everybody loved him, no matter where he went. One of those guys who just made friends like a new puppy, regardless of the situation. Always looked as healthy as an Arnold Schwarzenegger-type could look, on and on. Just out of the blue, he was found dead behind a 7-11.

Never thought I'd have to attend one of my own brother's funerals. I'm the oldest, so it just seems wrong. Should be me. But, what's killing me more than anything is what it's doing to my mother. You should never have to see your children dead.

Absolutely terrible.  Again, my condolences.
