I think Kahlers look cool! And practically everyone who's actually used one says they're great, smooth and very adjustable.

Have a couple of guitars with them. They have a much smoother feel to them than Floyds. But they don't dive as well as Floyds either, not as dramatic.

I think when Floyd Rose came along, it was the "have to have" tremolo and got adopted by the guitar heroes of the time. So everybody followed that trend. Plus the Floyd was pretty much a drop in replacement for the Fender tremolos.

Also, the locking nuts are different between the two. Floyd replaces the nut, Kahler puts the lock behind the nut.

But I have no complaints about the Kahlers I have, they work great, just different.
