Mermaid/Undertone baritone build

Haha, not yet! Slowly chipping away at the dream, it's a long, hard road for anyone, especially a trades guy, but it's a lot of fun at times 😁

Running this build on the ragged edge! If you recall, I had some concerns about string length and the TOM string-thru with reverse headstock baritone scale. With the bridge and ferrules installed, I could finally complete my measurements for the low E string (the longest run):

3.75" from rear ferrule to saddle (measured from inner edge of ball to centered saddle) [edit: Soloist body with angled string-through option]
29" from saddle to middle of nut
6" from middle of nut to center of tuner post
38.75" total length

The string is plenty long enough, at 42.625", but it is the wound length that concerned me... would it reach into/through the tuner post? Would it be ok wind only the string core w/o the wound portion in the tuner? I know bass strings can wind on the taper. Luckily, the wound portion came in at 38.75"! Whew!

My gut says yes. There are bass strings that you can not put wound strings through or around a tuner.
