It is finally finished.  This is the most beautiful Stratocaster I have ever finished.  The wood and colors are so beautiful and the pictures really do not do it justice.  I think I need Warmoth's photographer!  Here are the spec's.

1 piece swamp ash body finished with McFaddens nitro lacquer.
Total Vintage Birdseye Maple neck, 59 round back, 1 5/8 nut, 6100 frets, bone nut, lacquered fretboard and head stock with oiled back.
Kluson style tuners.
Lindy Fralin Pickups cryogenically froze @ Callaham Guitars with 1954 Bakelite plastic covers.
Trem unit from callaham with vintage 1954 saddles.
Pots and Cap's from RS Guitar works.
Pickguard single ply from Callaham.
Volume and tone controls and switch tip are from the junk draw until I can get some real Bakelite stuff.
String guage 12 thru 54.
Final set up by Glad Rassmusen. ( THE MAN)

I have yet to build a guitar with a Warmoth Body and Neck the is not exceptional and this is one of the best.  I already have had offers to buy it.  This one stays with me!

sure turned out beautifullllll!!!!  top notch job on the entire build  if you have time shoot more pics and put them up love to see them

That...

is perfection. Beautiful work. The classics are called that for a very good reason.

Nice, but isn't that a 3 tone burst? Is the lighting or is there a red band between the black/yellow?

Here is a very accurate picture of the color.  It is also a great shot of the Bakelite P/U Covers and the Vintage Saddles.

The amp, CB your right!  It use to belong to Craig Chaquico of the Jefferson Starship.  His name and Drivers License # are etched in the chasie.  My amp tech said he contacted Craig to make sure it was not stolen before he repaired it for the guy I bought it from and Craig confirmed that it was not stolen and he owned it in the 70'S.

WOW I am a total sucker for any fender-style sunbursts on a strat, tele or jazzmaster. And that is absolutely stellar, fantastic work. Don't ever let that out of your hands!!

PLEASE post a video / mp3 of that baby through that amp. Guitar porn heaven right there.

p.s. Does it have a name?

That is really beautiful Tonar!

I have a question though.... do you think that using a one piece body makes a difference?
I think there was a topic on this on the old forum, but can't find it back. I just can't decide between a 1 piece body (1 piece solid swamp ash body + 1 piece swamp ash lam top) and a regular 3 piece swamp ash. I kind of like the figuring on the 3 piece better, but I wonder if for 19$ more, the 1 piece is a smarter decision..

No I do not think a one peice body makes a difference in the tone.  I like them because of the continuity of the grain.  No glue seams to deal with.  That said Warmoth does a great job on matching the grain at the seams and I have used some  2 piece bodies with great results.  But I still prefer a single piece of swamp ash over all the others  for a Strat or Tele.  There is a cool vibe to a one piece body.

I think body weight has a big influence on the tone of the guitar acoustically but I still believe the neck has the greatest impact on the tone beside wood choice.  Get the biggest fattest neck your hand can play comfortably.

This is an awesome job on the finish.  Any tips on what products you used, and how you applied them?

Tonar, that's beautifull, I wish I could apply a finnish like that, and someday I will (try).

Did I read you correctly? I read it several times, you've never used warmoth parts?

I have yet to build a guitar with a Warmoth Body and Neck the is not exceptional and this is one of the best.

OK i see it now, the word "the" should be "that" and a comma after exceptional.  sorry, you had me scared for a minute.

Actually, I wouldn't care if you built it from one of them $130.00 kits, it looks inspiring

Would love to see you and jack team up for a build, matching pair o somethings

That is really beautiful. One of the most impressive vintage-types I've seen. Please post more pics! This would be great in the flikr gallery.

Wowzer, how cool is that, not only got a sweet git-tar, but a piece of rock and roll history.  When i was a young lad living in Washinton state, a friend of mines dad had told me of a particular person from the then Jefferson Airplane that he was a  roomate to back in the 60's....
