Shortening Fender style bridge saddle adjustment screws

I apologize to all of you run down to the store types but the OP was how to shorten screws not where to buy them. My gizzie was maybe five cents worth of scrap metal, 1 rivet and ten minutes of work. You would just be looking for a parking spot by the time I was done with all six screws. And...

Shortening Fender style bridge saddle adjustment screws

You need a Screw Gizzie. I built my own years ago but you can buy one from Brownells. & probably a hundred other places I'm not aware of. http://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/metal-prep-coloring/polishing-tools-accessories/polishing-wheels/screw-holder-gizzie--prod599.aspx?dym=y...

    Ash grain filling

Yes you will want filler. There are several available but I like this; http://www.stewmac.com/Materials_and_Supplies/Finishing_Supplies/Fillers_and_Putties/ColorTone_Waterbase_Grain_Filler.html You'll want this one. #0220-A If this is your 1st, and we always remember our 1st, you'll want to...

Meanwhile, at Warmoth...the Golden Era of the Whammy Bar: 1969 - 1989

Interesting thread. Easily hi-jacked to candy land. Here's a comment from another forum that I visit where this thread is being discussed; velorush said, "How could they have missed the very reason it is called the "whammy bar" - Lonnie Mack's "The Wham" 1963!  They set it up in paragraph...

    Removing finish on maple fretboards

IIRC,  and the story is true, the folks at Leo's shop used an 8 penny nail with a groove ground into the head as a fret scraper. But I never worked there so I guess it's just a  rumor. Or would that be an old wives tale? :rock-on:

    NND: Warmoth Tele Goodness.

I've been around here quite a while now. Put together several nice guitars. Love 'em all. With the exception of the few that I've assembled for friends, all of my Warmoths have come out of the showcase. 1st a neck then a body to fit. Or find a nice body then wait for the right neck to come...

Thinking about restoring my 1994 Epiphone Les Paul Plus Top

I agree with rapfohl09, these are great additions to the tool box. But I buy  mine off of theBay for a bunch less. Same tool; http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fret-Dressing-Crowning-Sanding-File-Stick-Kit-1-with-4-belt-Luthier-tool-/131678303966?hash=item1ea8a376de Or the Fret Crowning style...

    just in CASE you're interested

I just received a nice Vintage Fender Strat Tele G&G TWEED HARDSHELL CASE from The Stratosphere on eBay. They've been selling them on their website for $140-175 and about the same on the Buy It Now sales on ebay. But they have also sold several at Auction and they have been going pretty cheap...

    Oh Nooooooooooooo!

I've heard really good things about the Guitar ReRanch touch up pens. You might check with them. http://reranchstore.stores.yahoo.net/guitrertoucu.html P.S. gotta admit I've never used one. Only because the company has always refused to ship to Alaska. :rock-on:
