its a jazzmaster neck actually, hence the block fretmarkers.

I forgot to save the pictures of the neck I bought...warmoth 24 3/4 indian rosewood on indian rosewood with pearloid trapezoid inlays and pearloid binding...can't wait for it to get here...now to save for the hardware and vip body...might throw it on my strat in the interim

That's very kind of you, and an extra-special gesture. I'm sure he'll be pleased beyond belief. That's the kind of present you dream of being able to give - something somebody would truly love but wouldn't do for themselves. It's perfect. Kudos to you.

Where's the fun in that? There's nothing like earning/building what you want/need. You just hand somebody a guitar and likely as not it'll collect dust or end up on eBay to pay the rent or electric bill. Give him a sweet part, and he'll be inspired to build something and fall in love, so it'll be around forever.

Hehe! Yeah, I suppose a loose neck wielded by a nut case would be a helluva weapon. Probably should outlaw them. Those, and hammers, screwdrivers, chainsaws, awls, pipes, cars, frying pans, 2x4s, trucks... the list is long.

I'm not sure what you were trying to demonstrate there with that video, but it certainly wasn't any kind of example of Keef's "performance" skills. What should we be applauding, his ability to keep from falling on his ass? Show me a video where he does something exemplary, and maybe I'll change my mind. And good luck trying to find that. The guy's been a joke since forever.
