Second 'build'. - Graffiti Yellow HSS Stratalike

Afternoon peeps.
The banjo's finished... well, it's got strings on it. 😁

At this point, it's got negligible tension on it. Truss rod isn't tensioned, yet, but its all done barring the setup.
That'll be tomorrow morning. I'm old, knackered eyesight... it's a morning job in my world.
More rambling and a photo or two tomorrow.

Excellent modern version of the Strat!

Which Duncans did you go with?
Thanks.
The pickups are all Seymour Duncans - '59 Trembucker from the original guitar (see post #1), and a pair of new STK-S7s.
I still have the original STK-S1s that were in it. They got changed for SSLs about 5 years back, but was never really happy with them in this. The S1s need new lead wires, which I'll get around to doing sooner or later.

Curious to hear your impressions on the STK-S7 in the neck and middle!

Okidoki...
These guitars are for gigging. I'm not anal about my live sound. I'm happy with these pickups. They're good 'alrounders'.
The reason for choosing them was that a HSS setup is a compromise. Initially, the guitars had 250k pots with early SD STKs - for the best part of 25 years. About five years ago, I changed the STKs to SSLs, which was great, but I was feeling I wasn't getting enough from the 'bucker, so I threw in 500k pots. Natch., this made the SSLs 'a bit bright'.
Hindsight 'n' all, I should have just swapped the pots five years ago.
Do they sound like vintage pickups? No, of course not. They're built different. "Ye cannae change the laws o' physics, Cap'n."
When I need 'vintage', I've got other guitars for that.
To summarize, the 'balance' is back, but a tad brighter/clearer than the original setup. Ideal world, I'd have fitted EMGs, but I had those in the '80s and keeping track of when the battery was due for changing was a PITA.
I have a pair of STK-S7s on order for the green one.
Moral of the story, if yer stacked 'singles' are muddy, stick 500k pots in - they are 11k humbuckers after all.

Graffiti yellow and black guard/pickups looks killer! For the bass I want to make I'm torn between graffiti yellow, olive drab and surf green (with all black hardware).

Your simple vol+tone and their respective placement is the only way I can work with a Stratocaster pickguard
Yeah. I find the volume knob gets in the way on a 'conventional' Strat and I don't need two tone controls. I actually have it wired like 'half a vintage Gibson', which means it doesn't get muffled when I turn the volume down.
I have pondered fitting three way switches in place of the five ways, too.
