This isn't worth it. - UPDATE

Does SX use the same neck pocket as Fender? If so, that's pretty cool.

My only bass is an SX so I'd love to know this, the body is purdy but every other part of it gots to go

I'm up for another $50 bucks at the 1st of april. That's when I get my salary. So if you could wait until then you could afford an even better body :)

Uhm, it's the 3rd of april now?  :icon_scratch:
$50,- is an awesome contribution. A body from the showcase might become an option if this keeps up.

Dude, if you lived in So Cal I would totally loan you my Helix bass.  I still don't have a bass amp, so I hardly ever play it.

I'm headed for SoCal eventually to go to MI but since I haven't played in a few years I'm doing a cheaper local school for a while, and waiting for a transfer to open up at work.

I think about $300 is the cheapest non-weirdassroute showcase body with a finish so that's probably out of the question. Come Friday I'll have maybe $50 of my own to contribute though, so we'll see.

How about another sale, Warmoth?

i think the double routed p-bass is awesome. some passive pickups in the weird bridge route, get a pickguard with no pickup hole cut, then get some actives and wire them underneath (ghost pickups, if you will). would be badass :icon_thumright:

That would require another set of pickups and likely routing into the body to make room for both passive and active electronics. If I had an extra bridge route I'd probably put a sticker over it or something.

I'm dead serioos! I know how it is to have lack of money. I almost sold my warmoth because of money problems. I'm adding another 50 to this. I read a coupple of forum posts about this sims guy, and he pisses me off BIGTIME!! I'm giving my father a warmoth strat - so Why couldnt I give knucle 50 bucs to support him? I want him to buy a nice body, that would match the neck perfectly! He is a great guy, and I want him to have a great bass!

:)

Rosewood makes most paint jobs look good, so I'm in luck there.

Yeah, I'd say go the easy route and get something that's similar to what you were planning in the first place and that'll give you a working bass a.s.a.p.
Been to GC yet?

GC has nothing useful for this as I don't want to pay for a brand new perfect Squier and rip it apart. I'm waiting for Paypal to sync with my bank account so I can transfer the money and hit MF on Tues-Weds with cash in hand for negotiating power.

I live in SoCal, why don't you lend it to me? :icon_jokercolor:

Okay, so the Musicians Friend outlet store closed in December. Time to start calling GCs and seeing if they have any damaged basses in stock.

might be worth checking out guitarcenter's used section on their website. they'll ship to you, and a broken squier bass + shipping can't be too much really

Between donations on here plus a few surprise donations from friends locally.. this is on its way to me!

I had to pick up a cheapo 5-bolt bridge to go with it since my Badass III wouldn't fit but besides that everything I have now is bolting on, plus this is the color I was planning for Warmoth #2 next holiday season so its not a throwaway body!

Cool! Great that it all finished well... Saw the whole thread and saw some people donate $ to you, that is really cool! To bad now I don't have idea how I'll pay my bills for the next 6 months... so couldn't help you...

Warmoth will be doing my finishes in the future, or Tonar.

:icon_thumright: Good man, I would've loved to donate you some money but I'm only 16 and don't exactly have much in the way of a job besides the band  :laughing7:

No problem at all man, I'm not just saying this but the thought really does count.

Don't hold this against all finishers. Just post here and we'll do some researching.

But Tonar posts in-progress pictures which is super awesome :D Plus your tele looks great!
