HAHA! I found the perfect solution!

Why not take both with a double neck? :toothy10:
One reverse. and one standard. Everybody gets what they want :icon_jokercolor:

Wait a sec... Where has the body builder for the double-neck gone? :dontknow:

No. Viagra is for people who get laid.

I heard the shape was an attempt to imitate the treble clef, and in a way you iiiiiiiiiican see it does.

Nope, scroll turned sideways.
Nope, an attempt to imitate the treble clef.

Look how well I support my argument! THE NOPE IS INFALLIBLE!

p.s. I vote scroll also.

How about neither.  If anything, the Bigsby design is based on a scroll.  The Fender design is most likely ripped off of the Bigsby.  The chain of custody is documented, most importantly when Leo had it in his possesion.  Funny, he stole it, now it's copyrighted as his (Fender's anyway).  Kind of like the mouse, IBM, Apple, and Microsoft.  Bill Gates stole it first, so it was his.

Actually, Gates didn't steal it first. The mouse was invented at the Stanford Research Institute back in the '60s, after which it was adopted by Xerox's Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), and was subsequently used by Apple on their first bit-mapped GUI, inspired by the work at the PARC. Microsoft, never much for innovation, stole that entire GUI/pointer concept from Apple and made it ubiquitous by allowing their OS (which they didn't write) to run on nearly anything, which Apple was (and still is) loathe to do.

Reverse headstocks look ridiculously stupid on Strats. :tard:

+1

Hate it.

And I shall rain down with righteous anger upon thee who playeth a reversed headstock Strat.

Do not forget the first commandment in the Book of Leo Fender!
"Though shalt not change the Lord Leo Fender's holy and perfect guitar design."

When Gates and Jobs were still working together, IBM had the mouse but no use for it.  Gates found a use for it before Jobs.

Oh boy, here we go with the hastily-researched-on-the-internet argument lol

P.S. that old Bigsby headstock looks terrible

Some of the Bigsby's at the time were quite hideous...

Actually jusatelle is correct, the original strat headstock was designed arround the treble clef.

And in MY opinion looks dumb reversed, all headstocks reversed look silly, it's just some famous guy trying to start a trend, and it worked. But it doesn't work for me. i don't care who does a reverse headstock, thats fine, I won't do one.

Unless eddie or david gilmour does one, then maybe I'll do a tribute guitar, but thats it.

As far as ergonomics? dude get a grip, theres no way, It's not better, your just acting like you know something, and we all know thats not true

I think it was Jimi hendrix that kicked it off.

I don't think that was his intention at all. It was just that left-handed guitars were pretty thin on the ground back in those days, so he simply flipped over right-handers, which you could get anywhere.
