I have a single humbucker jazzmaster in production one piece black korina. However I've just seen how enormous the rear route is. Seems terrible to be removing that much wood for one volume pot
I've mocked up something that seems better (bottom pic) but they're charging me $177 restock fee if I make the change to no routing and I have to do it myself.
Has anyone had experience doing a smaller rear route? Am I stressing about nothing here or will removing that much wood make the guitar have less girth to the tone and sound hollow?
It's for groove metal so I don't want a chambered sound
