Putting a 24 inch scale neck on 7/8 body - what scale does it become?

Thinking about an all roasted build but had questions.

I know a complete 7/8 size body/neck combination is for 24-3/4 scale guitar with 24 frets.
But what scale is it when you combine a 7/8 body with a 24 inch scale neck.
Does it make the guitar scale 24 3/4 or 24 inch.

Like Pete says it will be 24".
I've done two such guitars, a 7/8strat and a 7/8tele

So no problems with intonation?  The caveat on those pages ("Designed for Warmoth 24-3/4" Warhead necks - Most 24" Mustang, Jaguar, and Jagstang necks will intonate") seems a bit ominous in it's its small-printiness.

I've found no problems with intonation what so ever.
I believe they're adressing Fender's usual inconsistency with that wording - not their own necks.

As I mentioned on TGP and as confirmed above, the scale is 24" and will intonate.

Not really ominous. "Most" is probably used to cater for potential variables in some of those types of necks of "ominous" origin.

The proof if any more was needed is that Logrinn has assembled Warmoth parts per these specifications and his instruments are intonated.

Yeah, but he lives in Sweden, where everything is kittens and sunshine :laughing7:

Ah yes, Sweden - we stayed in Ystad recently, but not on a weekend.

You're kidding? That's like next door from where I live.
Give me a heads up next time you're in these parts and perhaps I could show you some sights. :occasion14:

Not kidding, no. Though I am being inexact as we actually stayed in Svarte - apparently where Wallander went to live when Ystad got too hectic or something like that. We had no idea.

Will definitely let you know if we manage to get over that way again.

Excellent! Until next time then.

Now, back to the ordinary guitar program ... OP, you were saying ..?

Kittens maybe, the 2 weeks I spent in Gimo/Sandviken one February was a wee bit short on sunshine.

I'm glad the big dub finally got around to making a cool graphic instead of my xfig drawing:

Sorry - that graphic doesn't fully explain heel to bridge distances and the 24" necks. But the key thing is the heel to bridge length. You can bolt telephone poles onto it if they're fretted for the heel to bridge length correctly. The Jag/Stang and 7/8's have a different heel to bridge length.

The page linked to about conversion necks for standard bodies designed for 25 1/5 scale necks does not answer the OPs question and is clouding the issue somewhat.

There is nowhere on the page linked to that says:-

The Jag/Stang and 7/8's have a different heel to bridge length.

The only thing that is stated in summary is that a 24" Mustang/Jaguar or 7/8 24 3/4" scale neck will not intonate on a body made for a standard 25 1/2" scale body.

[list type=decimal]
[*]The conversion necks as shown in the graphic will only intonate on a 25 1/2" standard scale body.
[*]The 7/8 necks will only intonate on a 7/8 body
[*]The 24" Mustang/Jag necks will intonate on Mustang/Jag and 7/8 bodies (already answered above)
