Update ...
Have put the finish on the body ……
Just used a brush for applying the water based clear satin.
1st off I had it sanded to 220, put 2 coats on.
Light sanded with 220
More coats on and then light sanded with 320
More coats then light sanded with 400
(Tack cloth used each time)
Then a last coat ….. or two. :dontknow:
:icon_scratch: By now I didn't like the shine from the clear satin finish I had …. as you will see in these 1st two pic's.
No problem thou.
So I then ...
Very light sanded with some 600 and finished it off with 800. (all dry sanding)
That got it to how I wanted it and looked just like the clear satin nitro that is on the neck.
The worst part was getting that shine from the routed bits and the man made worm holes. (still finding some)
That's how I wanted it ... :icon_thumright:
Then came .....
Everything else went in easy, ferrules / pups / bridge / controls.
Just gotta do tuners on the neck and wait for a parcel from Doug. :toothy10:
Which is a stainless steel rear control cover and a neckplate.
Shall get some outdoor shots then, as I finish it off.
As these are crappy indoor pic's with the flash. :toothy11:
Cheers Updown :icon_biggrin:
