Clarification on AANJ compatibility with W necks

Am I right in understanding a Vintage Modern neck will mate with an Ibanez style All Access Neck Joint, while the Pro necks will not due to the side adjuster placement?

If that is the case... is it possible to get a Conversion neck with Vintage Modern construction? I don't see it as an option on the site, but I'm hoping it's one of those things where you can "talk to someone" to make it happen.

Can't speak for the first, but I do know the only construction type available on the conversion neck is the Warmoth Pro.  The custom contours are also not available on the conversion necks.

On top of that, if you have a 24 3/4" scale Ibanez, the Warmoth conversion scale necks won't intonate correctly even if you could get them to bolt on.  The conversion scale necks are made to bolt onto a 25 1/2" scale body.  If you have a 25 1/2" scale Ibanez, you'll have to make sure that you don't have a 24 fret neck as well, as Warmoth's necks are only 22.

Let me clarify my clarification  :tard:

The body in question isn't an Ibanez, but it has the AANJ heel, and it's designed to be a standard 25.5" scale (and it's sized to fit a W neck). So my real question is, will the W necks mate up with thos AANJ holes properly? I'd especially like it to work with the Pro design, as that would offer the option of using the conversion necks.

Okay, not go ahead and answer!  :hello2:

If the AANJ holes *exactly* match a standard Fender 4 bolt neck pocket, then it might fit.  If the holes are off even a tiny amount, it would be better to have the neck mounting holes omitted and drill your own.

Thanks Wyliee. They definitely don't match the standard Fender holes. I knew I would need to drill my own... I'm worried about where the bolts go with an AANJ, if they would cause any problem with the Pro side-adjust truss rod. Does that make sense?

Based on the conversations I've had with others and a little test, yes there will be a problem with the mounting holes and side adjust mechanism.

Gotcha. That answers it!  :rock-on:

doesn't that still leave the tilted headstock designs as a possibility?
Yep, that's the only option. I had forgotten there are a couple of Conversion necks with the tilt construction. So it could work...
