Pick your poison! Most of the time, when I'm not surfing this board on my cell phone (which sucks because I miss all the photos), I am in this little shop called Black Dog coffee. I specifically picked my apartment because it was next to a coffee shop, and I tried the place out a few times before I signed the lease.

Besides free live music I can get a bottomless cup for $2.81 after tax and sit up here listening to local bands sipping a cup of their house roast with a little cream (half and half, nothing non-fat here) and a book, and burn away a slow afternoon just enjoying not being at work. So I guess coffee is about the experience for me, which is why I don't drink it at home or work. It would ruin the relaxation for me.

What do you do?

Coffee is the nectar of the gods ....  :glasses9:

And Starbucks does not serve coffee .... they serve some form of caffine delivery system liquid, but it is not coffee.  Everything they brew tastes "burnt" to me .... and I LOVE dark roasts!

We have a commercial espresso machine at work.

That works for me.

I went through an espresso kick for a while, but I got sick of spending $5 for a cup of something foamy. Plus, its harder to get good espresso around here. In a pinch I can do a ghetto-chino, or Folgers + powdered hot chocolate with marshmallows, if I need a pick-me-up when I'm working. But that's for emergencies.

I just drank a 5 hour energy less than a minute ago.
Buddy of mine got a case for $20.00

I'm a recreational coffee drinker. Needing it to wake up or depending on any substance in general just ain't my thang. But my friend works at Starbucks and the whole staff is pretty relaxed so every time we go in past 6pm we get free drinks and sometimes pastries.

My preferred delivery system is an iced venti white mocha with an extra shot.

Soda. I drink many cans of diet Coke and diet Pepsi each day.  :blob7:

I only drink coffee if it's iced, and I don't drink it too often. Maybe once a month or so I'll go to Starbucks for an iced Frappucinno or whatever they call them.

I've never been big on tea.

I have an energy drink every once in a while. Red Bull is great stuff!

Coffe - I grind my own beans, espresso or regular brew coffee. It's a world of difference! My mum got a really nice coffee grinder for christmas where you can adjust how finely ground you want the beans etc and I am so getting one of those when I can afford it. Also very tempted to get one of those stove top espresso makers, I had some excellent espresso from one of those a couple of weeks ago.

Tea - I always start my day with a cup of tea, no exceptions. I'm generally staying with green teas now like long jing, sencha and tie kuan yin, but I have some black darjeeling and keemun left. If forced to choose, I'd choose tea over coffee.

Soda/energy drinks/etc: don't touch the stuff with a ten foot pole.

Occasionally, I'll have some coca-cola classic (not the diet or caffine free), but I'm mostly a water guy.

THE soda.

Coffee and a Grinder...I live in Seattle and you can't even get a Drivers License here without being a bean grinder...lol.... :laughing7:

I make my own decaff at home with a bit of unsweetened cocoa powder, splenda and half&half. My wife says it tastes like mud but i love it.

I make my own coffee.  Good, fresh beans, grind right before brewing.  I worked in a non-starbucks coffee house for a while, and received excellent training from real nutso coffee people.  The only thing better to drink than coffee is beer.

One last thing, as the Descendents said "Thou shalt not commit decaf!"

+1!

Although last night I tried some new sencha tea I got for christmas, thinking it was low-/no-caffeine... at 2am I still could barely blink, let alone keep my eyes closed.

mountain dew really is evil. i'm almost an addict myself, and washington wizard's caron butler was actually addicted. he stopped drinking it over the offseason, went through a huge withdrawal, and lost 10 lbs when all was said and done haha that being said it won't stop me from drinking at least one a day.

Don't ask me to choose between coffee and tea.  I love them both a lot.  Though I have to say, I like tea time much better than coffee time.  I'm usually swigging coffee because I have to be up early in the morning to work on something, but tea time is a nice break in the afternoon.
