For clarification, the Jazzmaster referred to in the title of this thread is my Warmoth Jazzmaster loaded with Rumpelstiltskin pickups, not the charlatan playing it...  :toothy12:

A little background on the piece. While hit-and-miss to say the least, I find YouTube gear demos are a treasure trove of wonderful music being created by musicians you've never heard of. Such is the case here. My dad stumbled on this demo of an ES-175 a while back while shopping for, well, an ES-175:

(edit: I've learned that the name of the player is Florian Brettschneider)

The first bit is a wonderfully jazzy jaunt through a I-vi-ii-V progression. He showed it to me and we were both pretty knocked out by this fella's finger work (and facial expressions) and so we took it to our jazz guitar instructor. We spent the last couple of months dissecting and learning it and learning from it. It has been a ton of fun! This is my rendition of that piece, played on my Warmoth Jazzmaster. I learned to play it straight through using my Boomerang looper, as the guy in the video does, but for this recording I recorded the looper separately to allow for more flexibility in mixing. I hope you'll enjoy it!

Thanks! The union has granted me JazzJourneyman; I endeavor to reach the level of my guitar  :icon_biggrin:

That's a great recording you made.  Thanks for sharing.

As long as we're talking jazz on Fender products, here's an early example of Joe Pass's genius played on a Jaguar, for crying out loud.  He was rehabbing from his heroin addiction at Synanon and didn't have access to his customary big jazzbox. (Don't do drugs, kids!) As it happens, I grew up with the drummer Bill Crawford's daughters.
