I purchased 2 Royale bodies when all were discounted. Have to say that I like both of my builds as much as my Gibsons... and they are much lighter in weight.
Thought they were a great take on an old classic. Unfortunate that they have been discontinued.
Cool post, as I think others have thought the same thing.
I did put a strat pickguard on a rear routed body, but there were no control holes drilled to begin with.
To my knowledge, the standard vol/tone controls on a rear routed body line up with an added pickguard. I agee that longer pots...
Last posted about a month ago on this body style... Any word as to when it might be available? Seems like a perfect semi-hollowbody options for us G!bby guys.
Now that all the big G bodies and necks have been eliminated, is there any info on what Warmoth has in the works as a replacement?
I really enjoy both my Warmoth LP's, but am looking for an additional LP type guitar in the near future. Have to have that tuneomatic/stoptail. :)
I don't post often, but recently routed my Strat in just this manner.
Purchased a rear routed body a couple years ago, but wanted a different pickup route.
It worked out fine and actually made it easier to get to the electronics from the rear. Only potential issue is that you now have the...
Hi Pete, I don't reply often to many posts, but this question was made for me. LOL.
My main guitars are Gibson '57 and '58 Historic Reissues. I not only love big neck guitars, but need them, as my hand tends to cramp up on small/thinner necks. Big necks allow me to play all night with no hand...
I just finished (well, in the last couple months) a Warmoth maple Les Paul neck with a Pau Ferro fingerboard.
Didn't use any tape, as I also finished the side of the fingerboard with Tru-Oil. It looks fantastic. No lines and is perfectly smooth.
Thanks for the post, as it's always cool to read what other people think.
II have found the Custom to be a great rock/metal pickup in the bridge of a Les Paul. It can get bright in the wrong guitar, but also adds some compression (ceramic magnet) as well. What's interesting is that all of the...
I agree that the 6100 can feel wide, especially on a Gibson 24.75" scale length.
My last build used stainless 6115. Taller than 6105, but not real wide like a 6100 as it has a slight pyramid shape to it which seems to help intonation.
MinWax wipe on poly is very easy. Apply a few coats, then go over with some 0000 steel wool.
Apply a few more coats, then steel wool and buff (or simply use some polish on an old white tee shirt).

I'm trying to decide about a neck for my Black Korina Strat. After looking at all the specs, I know many here like Wenge/Ebony with BK. I'm not so sure though. The guitar is more like a Gibson. Two humbuckers with tuneomatic/stoptail.... all on a Strat.
I'm leaning torwards a Black Korina neck...
