The 2nd Warmoth Jam is now over. We ended up going over the July 15th deadline for the hope of more soloists coming aboard.

We 5 soloists this time around & hope to have more for Jam #3.

I'm up for doing the next backing track, but if anyone else wants to do it, please let us know, as well as any input you might have in what style the next one should be in.

I don't have the neccessary software to do it unfortunately.

Steve Karl did a great job of the last one, but he didn't participate this time around, so I don't know if he's interested in mixing it or not.

I'd love to do both soloing, backing tracks and mixing in the future, but right now I have neither the software nor the skills/experience to do it. With a bit of luck and a pretty brutal budget I may be able to participate in the next jam!

Honestly, it's A LOT easier to get things going than it sounds. I use a program called Guitar Tracks Pro 3. It's quite old & you can probably buy it now for under $30. It's digital recording made in mind for the guitarists, so it's a breeze to use & comes with drum loops & an onboard amp modulator called amplitube. You get a lot for a mere $30. Or, you can download Reaper for free off the net & use that to record. Once you get it done, you'll wonder why you didn't do it earlier. It's a lot simpler than it sounds.

I'm most likely getting the Native Instruments Audio Kontrol sound card, I found a deal where I get it with a free full download of Guitar Rig 4. I like the idea of the Audio Kontrol interface and it's gotten very good reviews on its sound quality. It comes with Cubase LE and I like GR so the whole thing makes sense to me. Just waiting for that paycheck now...!

Sounds like a great package. Guitar Rig 4 is INSANE. You can do so much with it. I just got it, along with Amplitube 3 & the sound possibilities are endless. I don't think they'll ever sound as good as micing a good tube amp, but for direct recording, it's pretty darn close.

I'll mix it if no one else will. I'm not going to go crazy with eq'ing it though.

OK here's my mix:

I put Panthur at the end because he soloed for a long time and I didn't want to cut it off - I just faded it out near the end.

I knew I should have bumped the gain and volume on mine, it sounds too quiet compared to the rest....

I'm sorry you feel that way - - I think it fits into the mix fine. I don't think there's anything wrong with having a quieter part. I like that there's some variety in the five solos.

I like your solo how it is, man. It's like saying "gentlemen, I have taste"

Sounds awesome, there's some skillz down here  :guitarplayer2:

Sorry for having such a long solo, I kinda recorded it before I knew how long we were supposed to play through.

it works out OK though. We only had 5 participants, so you made it more like 7  :laughing7:
