Unbent laminate on carved Gecko top

The portion of the arm rest where the top is bent over can be eliminated as an option. This would yield a two-tone effect and more importantly open up options for wood choice. I had requested a Macassar Ebony word top and was denied because the wood couldn't be bent since the sheets are small in width and would need to be joined together to make them wide enough to cover. If the top was kept flat this type of wood could be used.

So the carving is still there for comfort. The laminate simply doesn't bend over it.
