Super Bowl

they used to say that in Ireland too, where it was actually true.. I have seen 4 seasons in one day there..

having said that.. the drop from 80 on Saturday to 12 or so on Tuesday was pretty extreme to me...

If you don't like the weather in Texas, just wait a minuet, it'll change... :laughing11:
^^No matter where you go in the United States, everyone thinks that their weather changes in a snap.
wouldn't surprise me if this isn't limited to north america.

Missouri is the worst about that I swear.  California never changes though

Anyone that remember jan stenerud from back in the 70's?
Norwegian kicker for Green Bay Packers. He's as far as I know, the only kicker in the American Football League Hall of Fame and Pro Football Hall of Fame!

Why does this game take so long? Seriously, this is ridiculous. When I left home for work, at 7AM this morning, it was starting, and it's now nearly 2 PM and the game isn't finished. Very convenient for advertisers though.

if you think this is a game they have you fooled, this is America's biggest media commercialised sell anything to the public and they will buy it event we have. Face it the money spent is only because you are going to pay out like dogs to watch it. Every household in the USA is aware of this thing. Vendors pay over a Mill for a 30 second commercial, they make special commercials for this event and you sat down waiting for those commercials to come on. This is corporate greed at it's largest and we pay to watch it.
We should boycott it next year and see what happens

Did you know the work SUPER BOWL is copy written and cannot be used in advertising unless you pay, that is why everyone calls it the BIG GAME,  Sucking up the money whereever they can, and from everyone watching it having to pay for each dollar spent when they buy something.

I actually is sickening

Just as I thought J, but it's nice to have it confirmed by an American (or so I assume?)

While I am happy that a young man was able to successfully have the Mississippi ball-and-chain removed from his ankle, and also receive a nice new Camaro, I was irritated at the botched National Anthem, and the halftime show was absolutely horrible!  Personally, I think AC/DC would have made an awesome halftime show, especially since one of their biggest songs has a large reference to the state in which the game was played. When the Packers were in SB XXXI, it was ZZ Top and the Blues Brothers, and it was ten times better. Even the appearance of Slash couldn't help, although, I will admit, Fergie's Axl dance is easier to watch that Axl's Axl dance...

Me too....I don't understand why that dope Jones didn't have a home town band play the big game. As pretty as Fergie is, the BEP suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck as much as Pukesburgh...Would have been awesome to have ZZ Top...

Atleast it's over for this year.

haha sad but true... the halftime show was pitiful. the game was pretty decent. reminded my a lot of the steeler's last super bowl, except this time they didn't have santonio to win it for them. i keep saying bon jovi would be a great halftime show... all their stadium shows are practically as big anyway. plus they sound great live. god knows that would be a nice change...

I hate seeing my Steelers lose, but I like Green Bay too much. I just couldn't work up the anger that you get as a fan when you play a hardcore rival/villain. Like the evil Cowboys.

And I would put the halftime show in my top 5 worst of all time.

And to tell you the truth about the game, I always had the Steelers as my #2 team, and for very easy reasons. The Steelers, like the Packers, are a "working stiff's" team. There isn't a whole lot of difference between the character of a steelworker and that of a meat packer or papermaker. They have US Steel, we have Charmin and Quilted Northern. They have Primanti's, we have Kroll's. They have Rolling Rock, we have Leinenkugel's. For anyone who skims slag or loads a pulp machine, the trip down to Dallas was a trip of a lifetime for many who live in these two cities. Even in the future, I can't see either team developing a hatred towards each other. It isn't like the hatred that Steelers share with the Cowboys, or with the Raiders - they weren't beaten by primadonnas or criminals, they were beaten by a team as equal in character and appearance as they are.

Mr. Hamburger threw his way out to space the last 2:30 minutes! Fantastic interception of packers - and we're champions!

I walked away very disappointed.  Obviouslys the Steelers loosing hurts.  Here is my list list whay suberbowl XLV sucked:

1. CHRISTINE AGUILERA SCREWS UP THE NATIONAL ANTHEM!
2. Black Eyed Peas suck.  There was a glimmer of hope when Slash arrived...unfortunatly is was only for a few seconds. :dontknow:
3.  The commercials were terrible.  There was nothing that stuck out this year. :dontknow:
4.  Can you believe Jerry OVERSOLD the stadium!  Some 400 fans were turned away!  Even though they had a valid ticket...there seats were not there!  Granted they were refunded a HUGE amount, (I think three times the face value of the ticket)...I would still be pissed if that was me.  Thank God they did not turn away Cameron Diaz and A-Rod! :laughing8:
5.  Steelers lost!

Um, newsflash? Psssssst... (looks around conspiratorally)  WE KNOW. We don't care. Its football. The greatest sport
in the universe. The country would happily watch it 24/7/365 if we could. The media knows this, they're catering to our wishes,
whats so damning about that? They drag everything out because its the last fricking game until next year (aka the long draught of
meaningless drivel on TV that follows for the next 8 months).

1. Yeah, but I've seen the national anthem butchered a lot worse, screw-up and all I think she did better than 80%
of 'live' versions at whatever-bigtime-live-televised-sportevent(tm).
2. Yes. The Pea's suck - they clearly only live in a studio environment. Slash IMHO is (and always has been) a very very over-rated guitarist at best. Nothing to see here folks, move along...
3. Are you on crack? There were some kick ass commercials! Darth Vader FTW. And I loved the beatle in the forest with racing stripes one, too. Out of the barrage of Doritos and Soda commercials, they each had at least one that kicked ass.
4. Yeah, that is unexcusable BS.
5. Absolutley. Dumbass Packers. DIAF.
