Just a PSA on this wonderful option. The 6115 is perfect for those who love 6150s, but want a little more height for bendy things.  It’s also non-obstructive for sliding.  I was concerned it might be a little rough feeling due to the peak, but it’s a non issue.  Wish I’d have done this sooner.

My showcase neck arrived with one tall fret. So close to perfect.  Will have to invest in some files soon.

Great to hear and many thanks for the info. I'm one of those who has both 6150 and 6105 and this option could be best of both.  :headbang5

It’s just perfect!  I’ve been in love with the 6150s for so long. Never saw this comin lol.

Wide frets were sort of an answer to excessive wear. The larger the contact area, the lower the pressure, the slower the wear. With stainless, that's no longer an issue. Taller is always easier to play as long as you don't manhandle them, so tall and narrow is fine. Not that there's anything wrong with tall and wide, but the width is unnecessary with stainless.

On the plus side, width is helpful on refrets, as it can help cover up the damage done by pulling the old frets.

Speaking of fret removal damage, in case you're interested, this is far and way the least damage you can expect to see from a fret pull...

...and that's on Ebony! Ebony is always a nightmare. It's a very brittle wood, so it chips like chick with zero morals and the attendant daddy issues. But, I found a remarkable fret puller tool that's making me very happy these days.

Anyway, even with that remarkable result, you still might want to add some width to the replacement frets.

Are those relatively new? How have I never seen the 6115 before?? I might have to try them on my next neck.
