I would have, but they didn't have one, sadly. I asked if I could unpackage the Thor Mjolnir hammer to "try it on" but they said no.  :sad1:

We almost got to feed the rhinos as well, but they didn't seem interested in coming up to the truck.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park? Nice. I live about 15 minutes from there. Did you do the zipline?

The zipline looked cool, but it is so expensive for the fact that it only lasts a couple of minutes.  The caravan tour was fantastic though, really awesome!  You get so much closer to all the animals than you do in the tram tour.  The giraffes were amazing and kind of hilarious.

Later on we saw the new baby gorilla with his mom.  He was born just a couple of weeks ago.  That was also pretty cool.

This weekend my family convened in New York to lay my stepdad Ted's remains to rest at the Long Island National Cemetery.  He left us in April, and we arranged for the interment of his ashes with full military honors.  Ted was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps as a B29 crew chief in the Pacific during World War II, and felt it an honor and a privilege to be subsequently recalled to duty in Korea.  The ceremony was appropriately solemn and having now been in the family honored by the military funeral ceremony, I have a new appreciation for how the families felt when I was on the detail rendering funeral honors for a period during my own enlistment.

But the point of THIS post is to say I also got to see my old ancestral homeland in Oyster Bay, New York for the first time, and went to see the house where my mother was born.

I've just set up an account on F-book for my business. I hope everyone will stop by and leave a message. I've resisted for a long time but I've just had too many request for contact.

Here is a recent pic of myself, Paul ( Rohney guitars) and Saul (Koll guitars), in Saul's shop. I really love his shop. So many interesting things there! I am holding my pinecaster which Paul cut for me, and has a Warmoth neck. Paul is holding his Moog guitar which I transferred the electronics to, he built the guitar which is very cool and better than the original, and Saul is holding one of his own pieces of art. There is a lot of talent here in Portland.

Paul's the fellow from the Offsetguitars forum, right? That looks like the Oceana style.

Yep, he goes by Sterordinary on the offset forum. He also has a site and a blog. It is an Oceana body. Very comfy and the scale and feel are a definite improvement on the Moog original which leans toward a soloist style.

My dad and I went on a trip to the highest mountain in Northern Europe, Galdhøpiggen, which is 2469m (8100 feet) high.

Green/Blue water!

Norway seems so beautiful. I've only been to Oslo for a day but I'm sure I'll be back to travel more up north.

I've probably posted a pic or two of myself, but I'm not going through 100 pages to find them.  Here are some of my more uh...entertaining pics.  :laughing7:

Mr. Esteves is right - that's a nice pic. I mean, that's album cover material. Is that you?

I wouldn't mind it, either. It is that good, on several levels. Maybe if we ask real nice, he'll give us a link to the original.
