    Here's I am circa 1988 with my first guitar.  It was a no name 3/4 size guitar with two single coils and no whammy bar.  What a bummer.  My first amp was a little Peavy.  I hated it because I thought it didn't have distortion.  Then about 3 months in, I discovered there's a dial that can be pulled out, which brought me righteous distortion.

Playing in front of these hardened SF guys in the ME was a great exp, but the feeling of looking out into a crowd of square jaws and poker faces was no fun haha.  Took a few songs to get them to loosen up.  Bunch of great guys out there.
