So finally, after about two months of research, pondering, asking questions here, more pondering, asking my friend / luthier questions, more pondering, spending hours upon hours on the W builder and finally more pondering... I finally placed my order for a body and neck.

Body:
Carved top Tele
Black korina
HxH route
LP controls Vol1, Tone2, 3way
Black Wilkenson trem and route
Tummy cut and heel contour
Strat pocket
Satin clear finish

Neck:
Warhead Pro
Walnut back
Unique choice Ipe fingerboard (I got an AWESOME one)
Spertzel route
Azurite malachite dot inlay
Black side dots
Black earvana nut
SS6100 frets
Satin nitro finish

Planning on putting a Bare Knuckle Holydiver in the bridge, VHII in the neck.  Aged nickel probably, but I may be swayed to go with the burnt chrome which will have the blue hue to match the neck inlays.

All hardware will be black.  Going to coil split the neck using the tone knob.

Once stuff starts showing up I'll post in the appropriate threads.  This is just a cathartic release thread (deeeeeep breath) that I had to get off my chest after so much @&$:( planning.

I hope so. I poured over those wood choices for weeks and weeks.  My wife has been ribbing me every night as I sat with my iPad on the builder.

If it turns out anywhere close to as planned I'm going to be psyched.  The Ipe was really just luck, I didn't even now they had it until I asked a sales guy about Pallisinder and he sent me a link to the page with all the unique choices.  That fingerboard is going to make the guitar I think.  Surprised more people aren't using it in their builds.

I'd completely forgotten about the Ipe, too. Interesting stuff. I looked it up - it's harder than Ebony. I may have to get some of that. As you say, you rarely see it. I've got a blue Tele in the works. Maybe that would look good on there.

Nice - that would be pretty funny.

I've 'blinged' out the build enough (cost wise) for my tastes - and wallet - considering the BKPs, Earvana etc.  I included a basic black plate with my order, so I think I'm good for now.

Maybe I'll splurge in a year or so on a custom plate.  I'd probably go with something 'kid in me' related, like a Decepticon symbol or ATHF related - or maybe a Flying Spaghetti Monster.

I have a BKP Holy Diver set in my Warmoth Strat and adore the bridge pick up, I've never had such a responsive pick up.  Just starting on a carved top tele with a BKP Piledriver set, god I love BKP's!

I have the BKP Piledriver set in my Spalted Tele and couldn't be happier!

Also have a Riff Raff set in my VW and a MM/Mule in my LP.  Looking at a mule set for my LP build that is currently in work.

I got BK's Mule (N) & Abraxas (B) in a strat .... Love'em.
And BK's in another strat Emerald (N) & Crawler (B) .... Very nice too.

Those that have BK's know how good they are.  :icon_thumright:
I'd take a bunch of these BK puppies any day, than just one set of SD Zephers.

Thanks, that was another couple weeks of listening to sound clips and YouTube vids.  I give all credit to this site though, without it I never would have even known about BKPs.  I probably would have gone with an Invader or something.
