This one -

Vintage Modern with 21 frets, type 6115 SS.  I was gonna go regular 12 inch radius, but thought... let me finally try a compound radius.  Fat back, which I'm really enjoying on the others. Thats about it.  Gonna take them about a month to build and ship.  No hurries, no worries.

This one is for the nice ash body with the clear finish I bought from our very own Vtpcnk.

Dunno what I'm gonna do with pickups yet.  Got time to decide, shop etc.

Was gonna get canary, but decided to go with plain jane maple.  Gonna give it a light amber treatment and lacquer.

Make sure to post some pics when you get the neck.
I want a natural ash tele as well.  :toothy10:

No earvana thingie... I really am having great success with the GraphTech pre-slotted nuts and have no issues with those at all.  They can be fit the the slot easily, and usually require minimal slot fiddling.

Very nice body, and I imagine the neck will be the same (from your description).  Appears this will be a real players axe.  ENJOY  :glasses10:

Nice tele there CB, is that the super glue tele? And normally i'm all for maple, but I think an all Pau or all rosewood would be the shiznit.... :icon_biggrin:

No, the super glue turned into the blue sparkle.  It could have stayed clear, it looked great clear, but there were ulterior motives for the blue sparkle.  I wanted to see how the paint was going to go with the clear lacquer.  I did that on the headstock, expecting to use SprayMax on the body.  It went so well I did the body in lacquer too.

This clear finished body I got "pre fit" from our very own forum member Vtpcnk.  He got it, but ended up not being his cup of tea.

Thinking on a neck swap too... goncalo on the clear solid body, and maple one on the thinline which is just a little too warm.  This might help to even both out a bit.

I'll second the recommendation for Pau Ferro. I bought my Pau Ferro neck on a whim of sorts, and I've been nothing less than amazed by it.

Hey =CB=, can I get your reasoning for Vintage Modern over the other options?  I prefer it for necks now, but I'm curious what makes it the thing to do for you.

I like 21 frets, non overhung fretboard.  But I also like the headstock adjustment hole for the truss rod on the VM.  The WP necks... too heavy, and non traditional.  If they used a top adjust (like the VM), and didn't have the side adjust/tweak thing, I'd consider one... but really the VM does what I want.  My preference is 12 flat radius.  But....its not a deal breaker.  I finally tried the Warmoth compound radius on this neck, mostly because I was feelin' cheapo and didn't want to spring for the custom radius.  I got the 21fret neck tho, which is now available on the VM by special order.  To me, it looks cleaner that way.  I hardly ever play to the very end of the neck. so the extra fret is more of a mind game thing, like 24 frets are.

hmmm - so another factor to consider.

i actually wanted to buy warmoth because of this (side adjust)!

but warmoth conversion necks are all "pro".

the first song i learnt was the bluesbreakers cover of otis rush's 'all your lovin'.

in the final part of the solo to that song, EC hits on the 22nd fret.

so with such a foundation when i first looked for a strat neck i proudly rejected 21 frets as inadequate : "yea man i need that 22nd"!
