MK neck headed back for inspection.  Have a NOS Dave Murray Strat neck (Fender) that I may throw on for the time being.

Last layer of CA curing.  I can see the edges a bit at certain angles, but it looks better than the chip that was there.  Will level sand and buff tomorrow.  Fender Dave Murray neck will go on.  If I love this neck with this body, then I'll save the MK neck for another build.  The DM neck has a cheap Floyd R3 nut, but I have a German made R4 that I'll swap over.

This looks much more exaggerated than it does in person.  Once it's polished out, only a hint of the outline should remain.  I can live with that.

This is gonna work out perfectly - no witness lines. I have to switch to gel to get the inside corner leveled; the liquid keeps running down into the recess.  The rest is flat and invisible.  Should have this wrapped up Monday or Tuesday.

I just noticed you are using a BREED in the bridge.  You will love it.  It has a super thick tone.  I have one in my latest GOTM build...

Finally - last layer on.  This pic prior to curing, but I checked it this AM and it's finally proud of the surface (thanks to the tape barrier).  Tonight I'll level and buff her up and then I have nothing to do but wait for the neck to arrive.  That's at least two weeks, I imagine.  The Dave Murray neck didn't work out with the tuners I have, so it was sold on eBay.  In case anyone is curious about these, the bushing route is quite a bit larger than standard Klusons, despite the inner diameter being smaller.

You gonna bevel the edges of the plunge route or leave them flush?
I try to at least file the edges if I can't get a router bit in there.  It minimizes the risk of chip-out.

Update:  This build is cursed!  The neck was beyond repair.

"Hi Frank,
We got it and tried to repair it and were not happy with the results, so we have issued a shop order for a replacement and it will be built as an expedited order. Hopefully it should only take a week to 10days to finish and will ship out to you right away.

We will let you know as soon as it goes out.

It's given me time to turn my attention to my pedalboard.  Selling some pedals and have some new ones coming in.  Have to move up a size on the next board.

The Dude is awesome. I got one for a buddy of mine for Christmas, gave it a thorough "quality assurance" trial before handing it over. You'll have fun with that.
