I'm going to torch this thing!

Nah, just sounded like a troll at first  :laughing7:
But surprisingly, one who's read your posts.

Speaking of the Max guitar, I don't think I've seen any progress on it lately.

The neck came in today for T’S guitar and it is amazing.  I also got the labels in and they are way cool but I’m not showing you those until they are on the neck.  All I can say is that the label for the face of the headstock is off the charts!!!!!!!!!

Here is a close up of the grain on the fretboard and it looks that way the length of the board.

Here is the flame on the back of the neck which will get deeper with gloss.

Tonar, can you change your name to Teaser?  I've seen your work, and if you say it's off the charts........  I've got increased circulation in my gender identifier now to see the labels.  Happy?

Would the owner of this project mind saying how much that custom headstock went for? I'm working on one for a V project. Just trying to get an idea how much it will run me

Tonar, where did you get that neck?  I don't recognize the headstock shape.

Tonar calls up Warmoth and says ""It's Tonar" and they all fall down, touch their foreheads to the floor and begin speaking in tongues. He can get whatever he wants. :hello2:

T50 sent a headstock design to Warmoth and they did it for him.  He can jump in and tell you about that.

Yes I'm very happy.   :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7:
All I can say is it would make a very cool Tat on the right person.

PS I'm still laughing about your identifier!

Hi guys,
the neck is of course done by Warmoth.
It's Warmoth pro 59 profile with straight paddle.
The frets are jumbo stainless steel ones.
The headstock was designed by yours truly.
I always wanted to design headstocks for electric guitars...
This neck went for around $460.   :tard:
It's routed for LSR nut. The tuners will be staggered Hipshot ones
with 3 different poll heights (20mm, 19mm, 18mm)

Snake head? You mean the "V"?
No. I went through many different designs to come to the one I have.
It ended up looking like the "V" headstock but the dimensions are quite
different, I think. The first design started with a headstock based on
the daneletro. Then it went through designs with pointy corners. Then
the final design is with round corners to go along with the body shape.
:)

I guess yours is longer and rounder than the snake head..

its like the headstocks of the V and the snakehead has sex and gave birth to your headstock!  :icon_biggrin:

I'll take that as a compliment!  :laughing7:
Thanks for the pic of the snakehead. It looks good.
If Warmoth had this in their stock design, I would have
gone with it. I like simple designs like this one.

Update on the body, this is what has been done so far.
1. Torched.
2. Dyed with 2 OZ of MEK Brown dye mixed with 5 OZ of lacquer thinner and 5 OZ of lacquer retarder.
3. 2 wash coats of McFadden’s gloss lacquer.
4. McFadden’s Mahogany paste wood filler.
5. 4 Wash coats of McFadden’s and level sanded.
6. One more coat of mahogany past filler.

Now she has to hang for a few days and I can start putting the final clear coats on. In the mean time on to the neck!
