I have to agree with Mr. Real Nice, and say that if the band I was in forbade me to tell anyone that I was in that band, I would have to assume that they didn't like me very much.  Anyhow, congrats, I guess, and just remember that a free ESP is still an ESP.

+1  The hair and fashion and pre-constructed image is a joke.  Canned rebellion.  Teenybopper fashion rock.    I could go on.....     
 
I can't tell if I'm just old or if all of these kinds of bands really sound the same these days. I'm guessing it's a little of both. Tough to sound different these days... :icon_scratch:

That's a pretty nice run of constant playing (the tour). I always knew I wasn't cut out for that kind of job.
 
I dont like that kind of music but I wish him well! Good luck James! Have fun, save some money for a big house and dont forget to come by and read the forum now and then. :hello2: :headbang:

+1. I'd stop in the Poughkeepsie show just to meet up and shoot the shit with him but, I couldn't handle a few hours of this music. My sister would blast this shit constantly. Needless to say, I moved out.

I agree with you about 90 percent of the time.  but there are a few bands out there that play this style of music that believe its a worthwhile form.  I've listened to emo since before it was christened as such and somewhere along the way it all turned into the same whiney stuff.  Despite that fact there are a few band out there that have merit,  If you don't like them its your right to have that opinion.  Just don't lump every band that plays "emo" into the "whiney faggy poser" category.

I've got no love lost for the genre and I'll stick to the few bands that play it that I'll actually listen to, but what I especially hate are the punks that walk around at venues like warped tour who carry signs around or write on their shirts stuff like f*ck emo or proclaim that punk needs to kick them out of the music buisness, sporting their anarchy symbols as though they were in the UK back in the 70s for the birth of punk.

I"m a huge punk fan and I get the sentiment but those guys can go f*ck themSELVES if they're going to crap all over a group of guys who work hard to make music that they love based on some form of elitsim they've never actually had any connection to.

These guys sound kinda same-y to me but whatever.  Good on JamesL if he really does love doing it.

Kinda moot, as it means you look really gay either way that one goes, but since you ask, if they are confusing your goth look for emo, my best guess is that your lipstick and nail polish aren't a dark enough shade of black
