Homemade Half-moth Jazzmaster

I just joined recently and now got to play catch-up on your build. Outstanding work. This is a real eye-catcher. It will be fun to follow your next build. :icon_thumright:

A plentiful supply of wonderfulness in this build! :glasses9:

How did you fill the gap between neck joint ad body in the end (or haven't you)?

I decided to leave it as is. It's just a small gap, and barely noticeable. It sure was a hard lesson though.... in clamping down your templates well before routing. My heart about dropped to the floor when I went to fit the neck afterwards.

Well done, I like the neck sitting in the antlers.

Hey thanks guys! I really enjoyed this project. Sometimes I got a lot of work all done at once, other times (especially the finishing) I would just put on a movie, and rub Tru-oil in with a t-shirt...over and over again. There must be 30 coats on there, all rubbed in over the space of about 2 months.

I'm still deliberating over what to build next. I've got some nice 6/4 cherry, and 2/4 AA flame maple. I just got some Woodcraft 4-way clamps, so I'll probably cut & join the lumber this weekend. I was thinking of making an LP, but I don't think the maple is thick enough for a carved cap. Maybe a strat or tele.....pedestrian as it may sound.

How about a flat-top LP? That's something I've considered myself for a future build.

I should get a matching haircut if I'm gonna do that:

Maybe a double-cut LP would be cool:

Mmmm... I love double-cutaway LPs. Make one of those. DO IT NOW! And put an Ebony over Canary neck on it w/ SS frets. And send it to me first so it's properly treated.
