Floyd rose tremolo without...

With old vintage hardware or perhaps something as sloppy as a Gibson, you might get away with a .020" discrepancy, but if you're buying into Warmoth bodies and Schaller hardware, parts are built to pretty close tolerances. You might be able to get away with some careful filing, though. It's not that big a difference, so it's not like you'd have to quit your job and file your life away.

I might try that, I have some good hand tools from Stew Mac, but Dangerous doesn't have to give me the headslap icon, it's not my fault my wife will literally stab me in the eye with a fork if another guitar working part shows up in the mail...HAHAHAHAHA, (seriously, I should go before she sees me typing this...)  :icon_tongue:

He's not giving you the head-slap, he's giving it to himself. It's sort of an inside joke. He doesn't have a metal lathe, but wants one real bad and is working on getting one. It's sort of a fundamental metal shop tool and he doesn't have one while he does have a CNC machine, which is a pretty advanced tool.

To be fair, it's often tough to decide what to invest in first when it comes to complex tools. I know from building more than one wood shop, one tool is often not as useful as it could be without another. For instance, do you buy a drill press or a table saw first? Or, do you dedicate the space to a big, fluffy bandsaw? And if so, where do you put the surface mill? They're fun problems, though.

I'll enjoy having problems like that. I'm still in that stage of being broke all the time because there's always something neede for one of these kids running around my house. I've got a whole list of things for the future, but right now I'm getting by pretty well with hand tools. I envy you guys!
