Floyd rose tremolo without...

No need to apologize. I'm impressed that you can read/write/speak two languages in the first place. We're much more lazy in the US. Here, while it's sometimes handy to be able to speak Spanish, it's certainly not necessary so few people do other than the immigrants who don't want to be understood in mixed company. The school curriculums generally call for a second language to be taught in high school, but nobody takes it seriously. It's almost always either French or Spanish, and French is completely useless outside of France or Montreal, Canada. So, you suffer through it just enough to pass, and move on to college where you learn the 4 D's: Drinking, Drugging, Demagoguery and Debauchery <grin>

Carvin's been doing Floyds without Locking Nuts on selected models for a while now.

So long as you have a straight string pull to the tuners, a well cut nut, and a good setup, they can perform wonderfully.

I like this setup, and while it may seem like a bit much having the full blown Floyd bridge with the fine tuners as opposed to the Wilky or another trem, I have been playing on Floyds for so many years, I just like the way they feel and the positioning of the bar, so I'll stick with that.

if Cagey (or anyone else) would play my Fender Talon III (I have 4) all theories about tone and sustain will get thrown out of the door!

It has all the tone suckers possible:

- Basswood body (considered an inferior tonewood by some - which I obviously don't agree with)
- Floyd Rose
- Super thin Neck

for some strange mysterious reason, it sounds warm, fat and has endless sustain! on any Amp!

Oops, sorry , that was not Bruno's question.

Yes, I would use a floyd with planet waves and a good nut (LSR or Graphite)

Bruno, have you tried a recessed Wilkinson? I love floyd roses, but not a fan of cutting ball ends, clamping etc, so to me the recessed Wilkinson/LSR/Locking tuner combination is the perfect alternative!

What makes you think I have alternate theories? Did you read the whole thread? Here I am, basically defending Floyds for the first time, and I'm getting grief over it. And I also think that a Wilkie with lockers and a good nut is the best way to go so you don't have to deal with the idiosyncrasies of a Floyd bridge, locking nut or not.

I just like to disagree with you  :laughing7: even if I haven't read all of your posts  :tard:

I've been playing Basswoood bodied Floyd equipped guitars for 25-ish years and have only had a couple of lemons.  Otherwise, I've had no problem getting great sustain and resonance out of them.  Much of it is in the assembly and setup, and most people can enjoy the same fruitful benefits with some education & skill.

OT: I've an american basswood body (q-sawn maple wizard neck) with Floyd rose too: my Ibanez JEM 7BSB.
For me, great guitar and  :party07:

In topic:
When you project a guitar the aesthetics should be matter little
But, in my case, this guitar will be the *n* guitars so. .. *eyes want to enjoy too*.
Wilky VS100: ok for zinc-block and saddle like alien-head...Simply I don't like it.  I am a fanatic, I know  :cool01:

My guitar is btter than your guitar.  :cool01:

I don't doubt it. I still can't do Robin Trower licks, so I clearly need to spend more money. I wonder if the upcoming Tele will help...

I don't lick windows or take the special bus, but you haven't lived until a nurse tells you to go ahead and piss yourself.

Well? They can authorize that sort of thing, right?

Let me tell you, I understand why kids don't want to be potty-trained <grin>

Pray you're never incapacitated. You'll develop a whole new outlook on decency. There's no level of degradation a hospital won't expose you to. At this point, I could walk down the street naked and not be embarrassed at all.

Big whoop. I've seen totally naked women before. In real life! Cost me a couple houses, but whaddaya gonna do? The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away <grin>
