Well I had a few bits + pieces left over from other builds that I've done as of late (as you do)

Then thought long and hard  :icon_scratch: ………….. about, what I will do with them  :dontknow:

:sign13:  Build a guitar pedal ….

May-be …

But !!
The only real thing I could think of doing with these bits & pieces was ………
Build another Guitar  :guitarplayer2:

Seems a good enough excuse to me.  :icon_biggrin:

Ordered a Showcase Body to be finished, that's a few weeks away yet.
So ...
Lets just start by adding some 'pure sex' a Showcase Warmoth Neck, with Sperzel Ream, Graph Tech Nut (Black) SS Frets 6115

Opppps ….
Thought I forgot something

Telecaster®, Warmoth Pro
Bocote
Ziricote Fretboard,
1 11/16" Nut Width
Standard thin
SS6115
Sperzel Tuner Ream
10-16" Compound Radius
Mother Of Pearl Dots Inlay
GraphTech Black TUSQ XL.

Think I can get better pic's than this ….. back soon !!

That's a sharp neck! I've been waiting for somebody to order some Bocote. Is that as dense as it looks? It's a very attractive grain.

Bocote is great stuff.  Very velvety.
Patrick
Yep what he said  :icon_thumright:

Seems just a slight touch less smoother and denser than either of the
2 x Pau-Ferro, 1 x Indian Rosewood and 1x Rosewood …. I have.
Still very smooth thou !!

Try to show that in these couple of Outdoor pic's  :laughing7:
Think with Ziricote on the Bocote will be a nice balance for this build.

Also it's the most I've spent $$$ for a Neck to date.  :help:
Plus hoping  :toothy11:  it'll match nicely with the body, should do having that golden / yellow look to it.

Thank goodness for Digital Camera's  :icon_biggrin:  ..... plus Photobucket  :icon_thumright:

Opooopps .... so sorry  :laughing7:
Seemed a good enough reason to build something.

Just logged on to Warmoth site and noticed the showcase Black Korina Body for this has been sent.
(didn't receive shipping via email)  that's OK.
May-be they just want to surprise me    :blob7:

Showcase Body item ...
Ordered 12th of april ... Body needed rounting and a transparent finish done.
Completed 8th or 9th of May
4 weeks  :headbang:

It's Fri evening now here in oz so wont see till 1st thing Monday morning. But it's landed here  :toothy10:

Don't anyone even bothering asking me what Trans Colour has been done, as I wanna see it 1st myself.  :icon_biggrin:
Lets just say it's a Trans that I haven't seen before .... BUT (sure someone would of used before)
I just haven't seen one on the showcase or anyone's here recently.

May-be the neck is a hint  :dontknow:

Stay tuned  :evil4:

Ziricote, my favorite fretboard! Will definitely check back on this, sounds good with the oncoming korina.  :icon_thumright:

Sorry more pic's  :icon_biggrin:

Thinking Black hardware because of the dark bits in the Ziricote and the BK  :dontknow:

Black hardware will look awesome.  :icon_thumright:
It's what I have here, so yep I think thats the go, save some $$$ buying other colours.

Yep Trans Yellow.

Used it before on the one in my aviator ... http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=16573.0
Gotta go see them side by side to see which looks more yellow-ish.

Some other pic's are in Just outta the box too.

Thought the neck (fretboard) might be to busy, but think it looks better & better each time I look at it.
I usually think a busy neck is for a solid finish and vice-a-vesa.

That is looking great!
Thanks  :icon_thumright:

Well after finding out today from Warmoth that the Raw necks are sanded to 220.
I pulled out some 3M sand paper and preceded to 'hand sand' very lightly the back of this Bocote neck.
(go on, call me stupid)  :icon_biggrin:

The Bocote was smooth-ish already, but had a 'furry' feel to it. Not like the Pau-Ferro or Rosewood etc I have.

So I went from 320 up to 800, just on the back, NOT the heel or headstock.
Cool ….. NOW it's smoother than my Pau-Ferro and others.  :icon_thumright:

Can feel the difference as I run my fingers from heel to headstock.
It's slightly grabby on the heel then slides very very smoothly, until the headstock where it becomes slightly grabby again.

Now were cook'in  :cool01:

Off to do my Goncalo Alves neck that I thought wasn't smooth enough.
