what do people do to stop the machined out bits from rusting? mines starting to look a bit ugly, should clean up with scotch brite, but does anyone have any suggestions to stop it from happening again, I don't think it will re-chrome very well and i like the matte finnish on the machined bits.

I find they just polish up with a dry cloth, just seems like a surface issue.

Once you clean it up, you can paint it as Murray did. Or you can cover it with some clear fingernail polish, or any other kind of clear coat.

Doug, outstanding work! This plate is going to look great on my Swamp Ash tele; and swapping neck plate gives me a good opportunity to swap necks as well.
