Yep, as the title says. Bound headstocks would make me so happy. I would LOVE to do a les paul custom, and it just doesn't look right without the bound head. Of course, another suggestion would be that multiply binding (even if just a 'fake' multiply so no extra work was involved).

To me, there are two ways les pauls look their best; one is the classic burst style. The other is this:

Come on!

Yessir bound headstocks would be an option I'd take advantage of for sure.  great suggestion.    :eek:ccasion14:

+1, when I get around to an LP build I'll fork over the $100 or whatever upcharge for headstock binding.

but then you need the inlaid headstock to pull it off, or if you could find a decal to simulate it, that would work to.

+1000 on the bound headstock.  Likely would sell a lot more neck and body binding if the head stock could be bound.

I have a spalt maple top soloist ordered...bound body.  Neck has binding to match the body.  Didn't want an unbound headstock, so I had to have it painted to offset the lack of binding.

I'm sure I would have gotten the headstock bound for my LP if they had offered it.

Actually, this was on a previous thread.  Gregg had said that it was not yet completely off the table, but W had not yet decided to do it.  I think we just need to keep asking.

We need headstock love!

It needs to be done by CNC to make it cost effective for customers and Warmoth alike. That's big deal for us to do. I'm sure it will come but the list of priorities in front of it is a mile long.

translation: we are too busy working on the development of the carved top tele bodies..
only kidding Gregg  :icon_biggrin:
but seriously, can you reveal some of the things you are planning to roll out in the near future?

There's always things lurking close to fruition then some major stumbling block occurs that stops it cold indefinately. So what that means is that it's better to not say anything until it's all cleared and ready to go. A pretty cool new website is coming though.....at least it should be coming soon...  :laughing7:

A wise and prudent response. On record: +1 for the bound headstock. As for the new site (not that the present one is a dog)... :icon_thumright:

do those CNC mill's you have have tilting heads? i could see an angle headstock being a problem to cut for a binding otherwise, would need a big fixture to hold the neck at a crazy angle.

the headstocks are glued on; why not do the binding-rout before the headstock is glued on?
