I'm Ty B. and I won the early June 2015 "Body of Mystery" contest that Warmoth conducted on Facebook.  I was blown away when I got messages from Aaron saying I won.  The deal was, the winner could pick out any in-stock VIP body.  If the selected body was unfinished, Warmoth would finish it in any color of the winner's choice.

So, I picked out a chambered Swamp Ash VIP body with a Quilted Maple Top, Contoured Heel, and Black Top Binding.  I selected the Gotoh 510 bridge in black and had them install the bushings.

On June 8, 2015 my name was announced as the winner.  On August 11, 2015, the body arrived...

I met the UPS guy at his truck in front of my place and he handed me this magic package:

Gently opening the box, revealed this expertly packed surprise:

Stripping away the packing foam bag, revealed this amazing body:

It will have black hardware and use this Gotoh 510 bridge:

More pictures to come as further parts are acquired...stay tuned!  :headbang1:

Congratulations and a nice choice.

I'm wary to enter in case I get banned for winning  :eek:ccasion14:

Photos just cannot prepare you for how brilliant that purple is.  Congratulations.  I'm looking forward to seeing this baby come together.

Great photos Ty! I got yer mug on our Facebook page now. Can't wait to see the build progress!  :icon_thumright:

Fantastic!  :headbang1:

Looking below the bridge pickup in your third pic, I see the face of The Joker, with dog ears and a V neck shirt.  :blob7:

Looks really rich with that color and the black. Looking forward to the finished pics.

After long wait...the UPS Man showed up on February 2, 2016 with some packages for me

Oh, the other box had a Seymour Duncan SH-1n '59 neck pickup.  I already have a Seymour Duncan SH-11 Custom Custom for the bridge...

Schaller M-6 mini tuners (in black) have been ordered and are on their way.

Does anyone think I'll need string trees for the Warhead neck?

That's a really sharp part!

The number stamped in the heel is a production tracking number. Means nothing outside of it's trip through Warmoth's shop; there's no date or sequence number or anything encoded into it.

You will see a nut width number written on the heel, and an indicator of the radius the fretboard is milled to. Also, if it's satin-finished, they'll put a red dot on the heel, and they'll hand-write the fret size installed, if any.

That's beautiful. Your VIP will be outstanding! I'd put staggered tuners on it and see if it flies without trees.
