Any 7.25" radius fans here? I've played a real one a loong time ago. Been planning this for my next build but... I also want it to be another baritone, and Warmoth doesn't offer those two options together.  (And why not I have to ask? I don't see why modern construction precludes 7.25" radius)

Anyone have both 7.25 and a 10" radius (compound or straight)? Anyone REALLY REALLY like their vintage radius? Some other company does offer it but... I've been happy with Warmoth so far. Is this a pretty please, slip the neck department a box of chocolates and a signed Mike Stern album?

What about frets for such a beast? 4230, or taller? Planning on stringing it about as light as I can still get a wound G. Maybe EXL110W.  I play 11's and 12's (and string my Alvarez ABT-60 16-70) so - I ain't skeert, and I do more sliding than bending.

Thoughts?

I've finally placed an order and it will be straight 9". My other guitars are something like 12". I would have liked to get a more curved compound radius than the only one offered but not sure if that's going to be an option one day. There's a suggestion box thread about more compound radius choices and another company offers various compound specs but I had other specs/features in mind that pointed me to Warmoth in addition to this forum, the showcase etc.

This probably doesn't help since I won't get it for a while :)

If you do more sliding than bending, why such a radius? I thought that the main reason guitarists favoured that kind of radius was because bendíng "felt" better/easier.

It's comfortable for chording. Flatter radius is the modern preference because of bending.

Just confirmed, 7.25 is ONLY available on vintage construction.  Bummer.
