Too bad.... Me routing a neck pocket? I don't think so...  :sad1: I was hoping that someone would tell me I'm an idiot who sucks at maths. I really don't wanna give this up so easily. Other people have done it without the routing part!

I had both my Warmoth guitars pleked (a strat and a tele) and I'm very happy with the result. Perfect fret job, nut, intonation...... well the guitars came out perfect. Big difference.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to get an angled neck pocket right from the start? I've been thinking about that a lot actually...

I'm also thinking of getting a satin black tele with a satin black neck. I had a LTD Baritone guitar a couple of years ago with black satin finished body and neck and I think that was fine. It got a bit glossy at places but it wasn't only on the neck, more everywhere you have alot of body...

Since you're going for excessive, why not change the tone pot for a Stellartone Tonestyler? http://www.stellartone.com/page.asp?navid=50 I've heard really good things about it, haven't tried it out for myself yet though. Here's a link to a TGP thread about it...

Just curious, is there any difference in sound between the different types of indian rosewood? I'm thinking that there might be a difference in density between the lighter and darker shades....?

My experience is that a heavy ash body gives a bright hard sound while a light weight will be mellower and more scooped. I have an ash body at 3 lb 10 oz and it sounds great, really smooth, and it's equipped with bright low dc:s callaham pickups and a maple neck.

I have the callaham bridge in a strat, and would get another any day. Sounds better than any other tremolo bridge I've tried.

Just found this in the showcase: Made me wonder if it's possible to dye a flame maple neck black to match the black dyed masked binding and if Warmoth would do that...? Now that would be cool!

I'd really like to see one anyway!
