I don't feel "out on a limb" when I say: It has to be pau ferro. I must look funny as I shift my focus from the pic to the bass in my lap that has a pau ferro fingerboard (I'm getting whiplash). I've often thought an entire neck out of pau ferro would be ubber cool, and a tone to die for - maybe...

Allow me to congratulate you and your stunning bass, line6man   You were in extremely good company - NOT a loser in the bunch!  It's nice to see a bass appreciated in this manner, but to all those who endeavor to build their own masterpiece - you deserve to give yourselves a hand, as well ...

IF *I* really want something - *I* go to the source.  IF one was in a position where they were sure they will be buying an item within a couple months - they should call the Sales Manager directly.  To  post it on an open forum that twice a year that you get a bonus and might spend it...

There are those who would also raise the bottom end pin higher - seen more on basses (i.e. Spector), but *I* find it positions the strap in such a way as to be restrictive of right body/arm movement, plus prevents the guitar to sit straight if you set it on the floor and lean it against...
