Here I show you my first Warmoth project. It's about 6 years old, but since I know this site recently, i show you now. Features:
- Chambered J-Bass body. Quilted maple top over swamp ash. Clear finish.
- Maple neck with pau ferro fretboard, fretless with lines.
- Black hardware: gotoh 201 bridge, schaller BML Light tuners,
- Bartolini NTMB (3 way) preamp
- DiMarzio Model J pickups.
Everything was ordered to Warmoth except the pickups and preamp. At first I installed bartolini "humbucker" pickups (under a J size), but I changed to DiMarzio looking for more mids. It was better to my taste. But finally I sold the bass because although the quality and contruction was impressive, and a very light bass, I didn't achieve the sound that I was looking for. I feel better with a passive fretless then active. I actually I prefere fretless without lines.
