New forumite, first build, need advice

Take your time but honestly, it doesn't take a lot of time...... I've done two and both only took a few hours to assemble and they came out great.  As good or better than my Gibby or Fender.  The quality and completness of the parts you get from Warmoth are great  My one suggestion is to make...

Extremely slow for me as well.  I thought it was my system problem.....

    Admit it

Sorry my desktop picture is of my other pride and joy, my Harley!  I do have most of my guitars as icons so I can pull them up anytime I want though.

    Cool.

I agree.  Not my style but very nice.  Very few in the gallery I wouldn't take if given.  Only suggestion is it might have looked a bit better with a LP style bridge or better yet a Gretsch / archtop looking pc.

Sneak Peek #2 (no this is not the LP replacement)

I like it.  Especially with the top and binding.  If it had a top route and solid mahogany it would be very close to my Gretsch BST1000.  A very nice guitar (one of the last US production models).

    Unique Choice, Worth It?

For both my builds I opted to go the Unique Choice.  1) I was speing a decent amount already so I might as well have a say in the top I'm getting and 2) the book matches are usually very good but there are some the don't line up near as much as others.  That was / is important to me.  IMO the...

    GAS Alert!!!!

I'd still skip the pickguard and just put a switch plate on it!  Why cover the wood!

    GAS Alert!!!!

That's nice.  I coudl see that with black hardware!  Only wish it was a rear route so you wouldn't need a switch cover.

    Pimpin out...

Unfortunately it's not even a GFS body.  They bought some other factory's mistakes.  They are all stratched and dented, beat up etc.  No guarentee at all.

    Acoustic Kits

First I must apologize, this doesn't have anything to do with Warmoth.  However, I do trust the feedback from this group. I've "assembled" a couple of Warmoth electrics and had a blast.  I also own a Gretsch, a Gibson Les Paul a MIM Fender Strat as well as five acoustics.  Of the acoustics...

    Pimpin out...

I was just thinking about this.  I ran across some cheap bodies at guitarfetish.com.  Look under their Factory Buyout and Clearance Sale tab.  You can get a body and neck for about $60.  I was thinking of experimenting with this as a platform to try some things out, like a sustainer.  But then I...

    Semi Hollow Kits

Cagey, that's one nice looking loaded body you have there.  Sustainerplayer and Altar, I agree with you.  I'm not a big fan of the white Fender in the links but with some tweeking and imagination (like the LP/Gretsch style pickgard, rear route upper horn toggle) that might start looking good. ...

    Semi Hollow Kits

Hey its' been a little while since I've posted.  I've been staying away because I keep buying more the more I look.  But I have a question. I've been on a Gretsch White Falcon kick lately so..... Do any of you know of good semi hollow kits out there?  I'd like to build something similar to...

    Neal Schon Les Paul

I did a quick look at that current inventory of the LP's.  All seem to have the TOM/STP bridge drill.  Can these be (warmoth) modified to accept a Original Floyd?  Would the routing for the Floyd cover the existing TOM/STP?  I think it is to late to get one made to order so I'd have to get one...
