Would it be weird to put Gotoh 510 tuners on an electric guitar neck ?

Somehow I can only think of acoustic guitars (some Taylor models comes to mind) when I see those:

Price and aesthetics aside, I don't suppose there is any problem using those on an electric guitar neck with 3x3 tuners holes (Vortex neck to be specific) ?

I have wood buttons compatible with the 510, but they worked well too on their 301 series used on my recent VIP build.

No!  I've got those on a telecaster (the locking 6 inline set).  Look great, work great.  Why not??

Definitely go for it! I have a set on my Jazzmaster, and I have another set to install on my current CasinoCaster project. Nice tuners, beautifully made, very stable.....  :headbang:

I just ordered a set of the SGS510Z model that's slightly smaller (gear ratio is 18:1 on those instead of 21:1).
