I did consider that, but rejected it.  I don't have CAD capabilities for one.  Then there was material selection and other considerations.  I quite like his design.  I did ask if he did custom work, I would have preferred not to have the concentric circles, but it still works for me.

it still some good looking knobs, and Titanium can be a good talking point.

just for me CNC and laser cut etc, I use a lot on my day time job, more easy for me , main barriers for me now is that I don't have time to do the design and 3D modeling , I working on some short deadline project now , already stay in factory for more than a week,  my day time job become a kind of 24/7 job beside sleep

The body.  Loving this.  Excellent work.

The neck.  That quartersawn maple has a wonderful texture!  I'm sooo glad I went with this, it's more than I hoped for.

The back, and a little bonus curliness.  Smooth as silk.

Not shown (we are, after all, a family show):  Ghotiphry's throbbing erection.

Congrats on a lovely bunch of parts!

That's a really sophisticated rock'n'roll bass.

Love it!

After it's been assembled we look forward to some footage showing you rocking out, wielding it hanging down by your knees.

Logrinn, given the preceding posts I sincerely hope you are talking about his bass being wielded down by his knees.

True, I now realise that my comment could be misinterpreted

It's quite funny in any event  :occasion14:

Thanks, guys.  Now that's funny right there, I don't care who y'are.  Just to let you know, I can't play with it by my knees.  The bass that is.  Not my style.

Those glasses in my signature image?  Those aren't sunglasses.  They're bifocals.

My varifocals are in Ray-Ban frames, they also go dark in the light.  It's funny when you walk into an office and people think you are wearing sunglasses and then they lighten up and go clear.

I am going to admit it I made a long guitar strap for my Les Paul copy in the mid-seventies.

That is gonna be one gorgeous bass. I'm envious and I don't even play bass.

Alrighty, I've hit a small hitch.  Take a look at the neck pictures.  Missing anything?  Like a finish?

I was wondering how I got it so quickly.  That's how.  I was supposed to get a satin nitro finish.  I've got an unfinished maple neck.

I've already worked on (modified) the neck.  I've installed tuners and threaded inserts.  I didn't even realize that I wasn't cutting through a finish as I was installing them until I was well past done.

I started reading a bit about neck finishes.  There are many people that say a tru-oil finish is preferable to a nitro finish.  I'm thinking I may just finish it myself.

Any other opinions on self-finishing a maple neck?  I'm after a smooth, raw feel.  From what I've seen, tru-oil is the best way to achieve that.  But I'm also reading about tung oil.  Or tru-oil, but follow it with gun stock wax.  I don't know.  Still reading.

Wow, am I completely wrong?  I read a post from Cagey that says the satin nitro finishes have a red dot on them.  I checked, I have an orange dot.  Does that mean that what I thought was not finished, is finished?  And I just couldn't tell?

Edit - yep.  I found a post from Aaron that says the same thing.  I'm going to leave this here, show everyone here how green I am.

Of course I've got lots of experience with burnishing raw necks!

Don't beat yourself up too bad, I had a satin finished neck from another supplier and had the same reaction to it.
