White '54 Precision

Due to the rising price of bitcoin, my bass finances are in good shape.  I'm going to start a build thread for my latest bass.  Things are on order and starting to trickle in.  Concept:

Alpine white '54 Precision with black binding
Quatrtersawn maple/quartersawn maple standard Jazz profile neck with tele bass recut headstock, black binding and blocks
Original BadAss II bridge
Fender Deluxe tuning machines
Custom titanium knobs
Custom peace neck plate (see below)
Passive wiring - haven't decided on pickups yet

Likewise. They didn't look that big, but I think the larger size will be excellent on a bass. Like that neck plate too, very cool!  :icon_thumright:

As I have mentioned before, this is a departure for me in several ways.  It's a finished neck, although I have another.  It's a precision bass.  It's bound.  It's passive.  And it's got huuuuuge, tracts of land.

It slices, it dices, it makes julienne fries.

I'm a bit early on a "build" thread, but... I'mma gonna build it.  I have no prediction on when to expect a shipping notification.

Oh, I've also favored Lindy Fralin's pickups in the past, although not exclusively.  I think Seymour Duncan quarter pounders might work nicely for this one.  Fatter, punchier, ya know?  Precision bass.  Not jazz bass.

Whoa, that was fast.  I got a shipping notification!  Scheduled for Friday!  The body was as seen in the showcase, but the neck needed the headstock tweak and finishing.  I didn't think I'd hear anything for a month or so, actually.  I need to get the rest of the stuff yet!

I did consider that, but rejected it.  I don't have CAD capabilities for one.  Then there was material selection and other considerations.  I quite like his design.  I did ask if he did custom work, I would have preferred not to have the concentric circles, but it still works for me.
